Alphatek TEK775 - AC, LCD Mini Earth Leakage Current Tester / Clamp Meter, 3 Ranges: 200 Milliamperes, 2 & 200 Amps

I bought this to do a couple of jobs where I didn't need spectacular accuracy, I assumed that given it was pretty much at the bottom of the price range for leakage detectors it wouldn't be stellar. In actual fact though I checked it using some suitably high-wattage wire-wound resistors on a site with mains voltage logging and it seems to be spot on. I'm not a professional so don't know what "gotchas" to look for, but I can't see any obvious flaws.

It's a cheap and cheerful device that seems to work. If I was a professional electrician, I would probably pay much more for a brand that is known for it's quality (I've never heard of Alphatek). But I'm not a professional electrician and I would only use it very occasionally, so I'm sure it will be fine.

Funny as soon as the meter arrived had to fault find with them the next day. Makes life a lot easier finding residual currant on circuit that should not be there. Very pleased with this product.

Nice piece of kit got it for fault finding as yet not had a fault Sod’s law but then again I don’t want any faults

Excellent easy to use. Nice easy to read. Seems strong. The price is very good when compared with other Leakage testers. I only want to use it to test appliances after repair or as part of an alternative PAT test, not for finding RCD tripping faults.

Not usable - complete waste of money. External fields (wires) alter the readings too much. I was trying to track down a possible earth leakage and the reading varied from 3ma to 100ma depending on how close the meter was to other wiring

Just what I needed ,measures micro amps , enables me to check for earth leakage, and trace its source, great value.

Meter showing 150ma of leakage current or “ol”(overload) when anything is plugged in. Highly doubt everything is leaking that much
