Q: There seems to be confusion about the internal measurements of this mitre box. Could you please give the internal width (maximum board width) & height

The internal width is 180mm as stated on the manufacturer's web page for this product: http://www.drapertools.com/product/55076/325mm-x-180mm-x-60mm-Mega-Mitre-BoxIt states the height as 60mm but does not explicitly say whether this is the internal or external height.

Q: Will this cut 12cm and 4cm width wood?

Hi,The internal space is approximately 18cm, so 12cm and 4cm wood should fit absolutely fine.Best regards,Hardware Warehouse

Q: what is the maxium height of skirting it can cut.

This tool has plenty of width, but the slots run the wrong way for you to hold down the piece of wanted skirting board. I used this as a learning experience to make a tool from wood, with side flanges more than the skirting board height, and the slot going at 45 degrees between the two sides of the U-shaped channel. I have not been able to use the plastic tool for the job, and the wooden tool has just done the third room now.
