Replacement for VL2020 Battery for BMW E46 E60 E92 3 328 330 X5 Keyless Entry Remote Control Smart Car Key Fob Shell (90 Degree Leg)

Dropped my fob and it stopped working. Had to open it up (E70 no comfort access) and solder this in. Has worked fine after the surgery.

I bought as a replacement battery for my 2010 BMW 535Xi key fob. The key fob doesn’t snap open but You have to use a razor and pliers to open it. Then it has to be welded in after removing the solder to get the old battery out. My rechargeable original OEM battery lasted from 2010 until 2023. This new battery lasted only 7 months and didn’t seem to recharge properly. Now I have to go through the same painstaking process for both my BMW key fobs.

Had to cut open the key and solder this battery in, but it works perfectly and this fix saved me $330 for a new key

I was able to replace the battery by myself and programmed the key fob to the X3 without any issues. This way I save lots of money. Battery only last for 6 months so really not sure if it’s worth to go through trouble to replace them and glue the key fob back together and stops working after 6 months.

For this battery you don't know how to get place or someone who can do it then don't try but it is the right thing

After two months, battery is down. It is not working.

It worked. Now i will hope that it will have a long life span.
