Great sharpener and comfortable to use
I bought this to sharpen my sickle / mini scythe in the field and it does a lovely job. It is comfortable to hold and very easy to control giving confidence and a great result. It was very hard to get out of the leather sheath the first time, but after a few times, it has become easier and now just fits well with no fear that it could fall out.The proposal in the instructions that you use the leather sheath and some paste to strop the blade seems daft as this would mean that you get paste on your pockets - it would be better to have a strop added to the sheath and then doubled over and secured with a popper - this would be the only improvement I could suggest.I am very happy to recommend this diamond stone to anyone.

worth owning .
On most occasions I use a leather strop . (the sheath is advertised as such but I use paste on my strop) This is an excellent sharpener for when chips or slight damage to knife edge is present and then finish with strop .

Quality of diamonds is excellent
Better than a puck (esp. for axes) as the solid handle keeps your fingers away from the sharp edge. The diamonds are excellent quality and cut through metal very easily, A nice little strop/cover to finish off. Not quite as compact as a DC4 but more usable and safer.

it works
bought this item after watching a you tube blog, so bought one i was surprised at the ease and effect this has on knife blades,, i am genuinely impressed and highly recommend this item to any one that has a regular need for a sharp knife, really impressive

DON'T get the sheath wet!
The sharpener itself is great but the sheath is poor quality and the leather hasn't been treated/waterproofed at all, so when it got wet it was ruined because the leather dried out completely and became extremely fragile.

Very handy for keeping razor sharp knives and honing lathe tools.
Excellent wee tool, has its own place in my workshop.
