This particular porta filter is specifically designed for an E61 group head. I have one and I love it.

how many grams of coffee does it fit in the filter basket that comes with it?

I squeeze about 22g of fine ground coffee into mine. Also take into account they are messy if you don’t get it right, but when you do get it right it look great flowing out the basket.
