Don't pay for hot cutting, this little tool will save you hundreds!
I was sceptical when I read the reviews, but I thought I'd give it a go and I am so glad I did.Honestly, we are a small business where Satin Ribbon plays a big part, Hot cutting isn't in our budget right now but we are perfectionists and I wouldn't be reviewing this if I didn't think it was good enough for my customers. Satin Ribbon Fray was* a big and our only problem which has now been solved!Give this machine time, it took me a while to work out the best method...Turn it on let it heat up for a few minutes.Lay your ribbon down across the dip and shut the lid firmly down (don't press button at same time)Then when you are happy and the ribbon is in place press the button firmly for 1-2 seconds don't apply too much pressure but just enough to cut it. (too firmly or for too long and it will start to melt ribbon and stick to wire)Sometimes the ribbon will *ping* when its cut but most of the time not, some times the Satin will just fall out when cut. Slowly lift lid and hopefully cut perfectly! If there's some ribbon on it when testing, don't panic close the lid until light comes back on to heat back up and quickly remove ribbon whilst its semi shut, let the excess burn off and its good to go again.Don't pull ribbon off wire when lid id up as wire will break.Any questions please ask happy to help!

Didn’t work
Didn’t work. Inserted new good quality batteries as directed in the instructions and power light switched on, but didn’t cut any ribbon. Tried several different types of ribbon with no success. Returned.

Fantastic craft item just keep lots of AA batteries as backup
Ok so after reading differing reviews I decided to buy this ribbon cutter as I couldn’t find an alternative that suited. I’d say it’s ok. It needs new batteries constantly but it works . Neat cut and yes people said wait for the twang sound to know when ribbon was cut. But I found that only worked when the unit or wire was new. It stops twanging after many uses. So just try and feel for the slack if you’re holding the ribbon. Too long and it melts too much and not long enough and it’s still attached which is a ball ache to disconnect without any fraying. All in all a good craft item. I’m trying to find a more industrial one for my project. However will continue to use this. Changing batteries every few days.

Great little gadget
I bought both the ribbon cutter and washi chopper from this brand, so have reviewed both.Ribbon Cutter:I have had this little gadget for several months now and am really pleased with it (given 5 stars). It cuts ribbons beautifully and is so easy to use. Really nice size and a cute looking gadget. You really need to follow the instructions though to prevent ribbons sticking to the wire. I have only had this happen once (I think I left it too long in the cutter). However, I was able to remove when the wire got hot again, so I could remove the traces of melted ribbon from the wire.Washi Chomper:I was unable to review this separately. I would rate this 4 stars. Initially I was quite disappointed as it cut unevenly (one part of the banner was longer on one side than the other). There seemed to be an issue getting the tape centred in the machine, as even when centred against the guide it would cut unevenly. I discovered by accident the problem (in case anyone else is having the same issue) and it was caused by the tab which holds the blade not being fully pushed in (there was a little gap). This then resolved the uneven cutting. I think this is a bit of a design flaw as can come loose a little when using. I just make sure it’s in the correct pushed in place before cutting and have had no further issues.Quite a useful gadget as can cut thin card too so great if you want to make banners for your cards.

Third time lucky?
I have purchased two of these ribbon cutters. The first one lasted me for a few months and then broke and so I bought another one thinking it was just a fluke and the second one which I bought in December broke the first time I used it. However, I cannot see any other ribbon cutters out there that do what I need them to do so I’m going to have to order yet another one of these in the hope that I have just had some dodgy ones and that I’m going to be third time lucky. When they work they are brilliant but just treat them gently as they break easily and they’re extremely expensive for what they are.

It does an outstanding job.
Cuts the ribbon within seconds, one press down and it's cut! it also warms up extremely fast. It's super small and compact. 10/10, love it. cannot recommend it enough
