Good light for my DIY milling machine
I recently built my own small milling machine for the shop and I needed a good worklight for that project, and this one did not disappoint. It came a day after I ordered it, and everything was in good shape when it arrived. The light came as a pre-assembled unit, and just needed to be connected to a power source. I had a tiny 24v 100w power supply I picked up from Amazon a few months ago, so I had the light installed and running in about 15 minutes, and it is working great. The unit itself is nice, with a fairly large and robust aluminum head unit that is supposed to be explosion-proof (hopefully I never have to find out if that is true though), which contains 12 large LEDs. That is mounted on an aluminum arm that has an 8" square tube arm connected to the base, which is then connected to a roughly 11" metal rod arm at the top, which then connects to the light head. The base, which is about 2.5" square, is the only part that is fully made of plastic, but it is the type of plastic you normally see used in items that you would use in a shop, so it is plenty durable for a work light for sure. The base has 4 holes for mounting it, and they seem pretty durable the way they are made, and it feels secure to my machine when everything is installed. The lights are super bright, especially since this is a 12w light, but that is the beauty of today's LED lights- powerful and bright without sending your power bill higher and higher. The light also has a nice handle on top of it for arranging it where you need it, unlike the lights I bought for my drill press, etc, so that is nice. The power cord runs down through the arms to the bottom of the square tube arm, where it comes out through a port that has a plastic 90-degree elbow for it, rather than just poking out of a bare hole in the aluminum, which is also nice. The elbow then connects to an included plastic flexible tube that covers 12" of the 40" wires. The ends of the wires are bare, making it easy to connect to your preferred power source. The light also comes with a small steel wall mount if you need to install it on a vertical surface, and it connects to the base via 4 steel hex socket bolts, which are included. For my application, I didn't use the base or the mounting bracket, as I built my own base from a metal project box so I could mount the power supply inside of it, and that was also simple to do with the simple way that the light itself connects to the base.If this had come with a metal base, I would have rated it 5 stars, but other than that I would rate it at 4.5 stars for the build quality and price. Great addition to my milling machine.

A somewhat heavy-duty LED powered outdoor light. The finish is good, so it shouldn't weather quickly.Explosion proof? I've seen lightbulbs pop, floodlights break, neon lights crack, & argon tubes shatter, but "explode" - isn't that an overly spectacular word to describe a lighting failure? An advertising overstatement? Perhaps an electric lamp thrown into a full bathtub might explode, killing the occupant (never tried it), but not an outdoor or industrial light inside a waterproof, all-weather housing. At any rate, the long arm, it's 3 joints, and the mounting bracket of this 24V waterproof work light are hefty and substantial, as is the enclosure for the LED lights. I haven't dropped it or knocked it down onto the floor yet, but it looks like it'll survive. This product isn't cheaply made so the price is reasonable. I wish it came with instructions & mounting suggestions or examples for those (like myself) who are "installationally challenged" more often than not. 4 stars
