Used to track smoke particulate of polluting neighbour
Bought this because my neighbor burns his outdoor wood furnace year-round even on 100-degree days in the summer. Causes so much pollution in my yard, that I needed to start tracking the levels above the ambient background and how high the levels get for legal reasons. The same neighbor has raised garden beds on his septic leach field (gross). Talked to the neighbor about summer burning and they are like people have been burning wood forever and it is safe.....

Accurate, portable and good battery life
Purchased to monitor PM 2.5 indoor concentration primarily due to the Canadian forest fire plume. Placed outside to compare with local NOAA measurements and found reasonable agreement and good sensitivity to changing conditions. Temperature and humidity readings match other monitors. Good battery life, allowing flexibility in monitoring locations. Definitely a good purchase.

Sorry I called it useless!
It’s working fine now! My bad. I shouldn’t have been so hasty in posting a negative review. Apologies.

Don't trust your lungs to this device
Tried this in two different workshops with plenty of find sanding and saw dust. The PM2.5 meter never went into the double digits. The only time I could get the meter to go into the double digits was when it was under bright LED lighting, or literally blowing dust into the sensor (see photo where it reaches 10). The manual warns against bright lights as it can confuse the optical sensor. I would see up to a PM2.5 reading of 80 with LED lights on and 1 with them off. Anyway, this meter is completely unreliable and is being returned.

Works week
Works as it should. Very interesting to see how many pollutants are in the air. I was stories at all the natural cleaners i use that put it in the yellow or red.
