I never leave bad reviews so it pains me to have to do so. I ran out of orange essence and my son wanted a chocolate orange cake for his birthday, I was being lazy and thought I'd cut corners by using an essence instead of grating oranges and making an orange sugar syrup, that was a big mistake! I've used the dr oetker orange essence before and found it really good but as I couldn't find it in my local supermarket and it was my sons birthday in 2 days I knew I needed to find something for next day delivery. I stumbled upon this and didn't read the reviews, again big mistake! I just looked at the star rating and assumed it was good. I used the whole bottle trying to get a hit of orange but that hit never appeared. A whole bottle in 1 cake and you literally can only taste the chocolate cake and butter icing even though I also put it in the icing. Luckily my son is easy to please and although disappointed it wasn't chocolate orange was still happy with the cake. When you buy a product you expect it to do what it says it does and this product does not and is an epic fail. Do not waste your money on this product! Positive note it did arrive next day as stated but that's the only positive

I posted a review of this and must have pressed a wrong button somewhere along the way as it didn't give a good report when in fact i absolutely love this. It has a lovely fresh taste and is quite strong and I cannot rate it highly enough. I searched long and hard for orange essence and this is the only one I could find and I am hooked. You will not be disappointed

Nice strong flavour so you don't need much to go around. I used it for flavouring chocolate ganache with no splitting or problems of any sort. Also used it for flavouring a plain sponge cake. Once again needed on a little to get a decent flavour. Great product I would recommend it to bakes.

It was not as strong a flavour as advertised. We should have purchaseed a pack not a single bottle

To be honest I bought this to make a deterrent spray to stop my cat climbing curtains- It works! (Apparently they don’t like the smell of citrus)
