An at home arcade console for under $60??? Take my money!!
First off, this is a must have for the price. If you want the easiest, uncomplicated way to play genuine arcade games at home on your TV on a home console that is literally just plug and play then stop reading the reviews and add it to your cart and check out. I'm super happy with this console. it is not without minor flaws and I'll point out the pros and cons below. Before I get into that I must ask you not to give views nor likes to the deceptive Youtubers with titles to their review videos like "OMG!!! Retro-cade console HACKED Add your own games!" It's deceptive BS click-bait. You do not need to "hack" this system to add your own roms. It's clearly an intended feature. It has an SD card slot in back. You put a folder on your SD card named "RetroCade Games" without quotes and put your legally owned arcade board (Mame) or SNES, Genesis, GB or GBA roms in that folder. Plug the SD card into the back and play. Simple. No hacking of any kind. Also if you want to have a picture icon for your added games like the ones that come pre-loaded on the console then in that folder also add a PNG only formatted picture for each game and name that PNG exactly the same name as the corresponding rom plus add the word game at the end. So if the rom is named ESWAT1. You name the PNG to go with it ESWAT1game. Now see below for pros and cons:PROSSmall (about soze of a Kodi box).Comes preloaded with great games. Can add your own legally owned ROMS.Controllers are quite decent.Controllers although not wireless have 10ft long cables.RBG and HDMI inputCan save games internally or to SD card (yes you can save your progress in an arcade game). Can play games from multiple systems (so far I've tried Mame, SNES, GB and GBA, not sure about others). The price!CONSIt states on the box that it supports other 3rd party USB controllers. I've tried many (including Retro-bits own wireless SNES controllers and Buffalo 8bitDo ) and cannot get any to work properly. I'd really love to have a wireless controller. If anyone discovers one that works please post. Not 100% compatible with all games (it's an Android based system running Mame, if you've ever used Mame you'll know it cannot play everything properly or even at all). Some games pre-loaded into system don't play 100% most notably Double Dragon (terrible frame rate) I feel like they should have excluded the two or three games that didn't play properly. You can only filter games by name or genre etc that were pre-loaded onto console. The games on your SD card cannot be filtered. They will appear on your menu first alphabetically then by date added to SD card. Maybe this and controller compatibility can be fixed with a patch or update in future?? Hello Retro-bit? ;)So that's it. I've messed around with Retropie and this is by far the best solution for the casual gamer to play arcade games at home. It literally could not be easier. I recommend that to avoid disappointing your friends and having a list of games on your SD card some of which might not work on this console and having them click it and not load and be sad because they wanted to play MK2 and it plays so slow that it's unplayable, do what I did. You will need to go through your games collection and see what runs and doesn't. I personally tried all my games one by one to see which ones either didn't boot up or booted but were unplayable due to frame rate Issues. Then put SD card back in computer and deleted just the incompatible or unplayable games. Now the only games you see on the system are the ones you know play and play well. I would say 88% of my games play and play perfect. Some might have music or sound effect glitches here and there but so what. Although MK2 was too choppy to play I was exctatic to find that my favorites like Marvel Superheroes, AVP arcade, Metamoquester, Blazing Star, R-Type Leo, Bakuretsu Breaker and Metamorphic Force all played flawlessly. Seriously stop reading about this thing and bring it home.

Recommend to all jp STG fans
Pros-90 Licenced games just $60 dollars.-decent emulation both sound and visual-Good game selection (pack with some STG gems)-Come with pair of controller and the directional pad is very responsive and accurate. The directional pad is flat but it is very responsive and less lag. So, don’t waste money to buy the Hyperkin Scout USB Controller it’s spend me $20 USD and I’m quite unhappy with it. (the Hyperkin Scout controller is just “OK” with PC gaming, but I feel it introducing input lag when I using it with Retro-Cade, and the input lag is unacceptable to me. Also, the Scout controller incorrect registered with X & Y button when plugged with retro-cade, and it is not firmware upgradeable. Some youtube review saying the Hyperkin Scout so premium so solid so blah blah,,, phew)-universal AC adaptor.-box art, printed manual.Cons-the HDMI / image output is not very clear.-ugly console, looking cheapOverall I’m very satisfied with Retro-Cade and I recommend to all jp STG fans.

Awesome system that's worth owning and toting around for get-togethers
+The included games are all pretty good, they're from big publishers, and they're LEGAL+The included controllers are solid+Hookup is easy - power and HDMI+The controllers cords are long+Picture is very good+Menu is sortable by genre or system+You can put your own NES, Sega Genesis, SNES, and Arcade ROMs (maybe more) on the system EXTREMELY easily with no hacking or modding required - just an SD card-Controller compatibility is extremely limited. Very few work, and out of those - very few are worth owning. There are no wireless options and no arcade stick options. Retro Bit's own controllers aren't even compatible with it.-If using ROMs from an SD card, they are not sortable in any way. You'll have to scroll down the entire list to find them, which can be annoying. For that reason, I recommend only putting the games on the card that you will be playing to save time searching through them. I have a separate SD card for NES, SNES, Genesis, and Arcade to keep the list from getting impossibly long. There is no way to sort or organize them.-If using arcade ROMs from an SD card, they are sorted alphabetically by file name, not by game name. You can't change the file name, or it will not work.-Some input lag, comparable to a raspberry pi+/- The power cord only plugs into the wall, and it's not USB. That being said, the power brick is shaped in a way that allows it to be easily plugged into a power strip without blocking any other outlets.Overall, I do love the system. I would definitely buy it again.

This System Is Great!!! Added a Community Game Pack from Facebook with 3000 Games!!!!
First off, this system is great out of the box!!! A great amount of quality retro games. However, the selling point is that it has an SD card slot that allows you to expand the number of games on it. Just look for game files online that are BIN and download onto the card. That's it! I downloaded a collection of over 3000 games for NES, SNES, Genesis and Arcade. All of my childhood in on there. You can also add Gameboy, Game Gear and Atari games as well. Supports games up to 16-Bit. Well worth the $60!!! It's tiny too! Oh, and the games play full screen on my 50-Inch tv. No quality loss! Excellent for nostalgia and gifts!

Games play exactly like you remember
The games play perfectly, emulators are junk in comparison. Don't waste your money on them. The product is limited to 90 games, but they are all good! The games however are pretty old. The return policy is not good, in fact they refunded only 1/2 my money after using it once. Poor customer service communication skills unfortunately.

This retro console is the ultimate
This is the ultimate retro console, this is the 1.1 version of the US model (not the UK). It comes with a US plug so needs an adapter for the UK power outlets. This means its the BEST model out of the US & UK. You can add additional software(games) to an SD card without modifying the console with any firmware. You can add the retro arcade games aswel as console games on this model, the UK model only allows certain games to be added, this US model lets you add almost anything. Simply brilliant.

A great system with an added bonus!
This is an excellent console all around. A small number of the games don’t run properly (Double Dragon, Midnight Resistance and Mystic Riders come to mind), but overall the emulation is great. The included controllers are awesome, and work perfectly. Sorry to see another reviewer get a bad bunch, but from what I’ve read and watched on YouTube, he’s definitely in the minority of users. The biggest draw here though, is being able to add your own games. From what I’ve tested, around 95% of titles I’ve added have worked perfectly. The other 5 suffer from some slowdown or wouldn’t load at all (one thing to note, arcade game files over 24MB won’t load, not sure why).A great value, and well worth owning if just for the SNES and Genesis emulation.

A mixed bag with pros and cons
The Super Retrocade is a great concept for someone who wants a user friendly emulation box without having to bother with a raspberry pi or android box. It offers an easy enough platform to enjoy arcade and console games with acceptable performance. Most people purchase the retrocade with the intent to use the SD card slot and add more games. The emulator works great with console games. But arcade roms are somewhat problematic, until you find the right ROM for the emulator. The 90 games provided are great and offer a nice variety.Pros:- easy solution with a simple interface- good and smooth emulation for working roms- SD card slotCons:- controllers are sub-par- many arcade roms don’t work when added via sd- no bezels, retro filters or scanlines- The console did not let me use my logitech USB controller
