Best crimper I've bought
I bought this for setting up a few battery go boxes and some radio power cable connections. it works very well. very nice even crimps. the only thing I don't like and it may be user error is that if you squeeze harder after ratchet click it will expose the crimp case through the heat shrink.

so much better than trying to use pliers. If you need to crimp, just buy this
I used to try to crimp with a normal pair of pliers... finally decided to use an actual crimper and this is SO much better. The crimps are secure and simple! I'm definitely happy with the results

Crimping force with nylon die, fault is with the CONNECTOR not the tool.
A couple things to know about this tool, All in all works as intended and pretty good at that. there are several reviews saying it does not have enough crimping force, False - sort of. the issue is with the connector you are using, which probably a cheap China connector with bad insulation. specifically the nylon crimp die, this die if your connector is thin and cheap, then the die tends not to crimp down tight enough to secure the wire and does pull out. Ask me how I know. I was working HVAC connectors and had this problem, quick fix is to use the heat shrink die on nylon connector and it will apply a stronger crimp. The issue is not with the tool, the issue is with your connector, I did some trial and error with connectors and this is how I came to this conclusion. Once I switched to a name brand connectors, after a few failure and could not trust the connection, I had no issues whatsoever. the die screws are a bit cheap, I saw another reviewer state this and that is true. probably switch out the screws (4mm) for a cap head screw and the dies will be more secure and you will not strip the screw head over time. what i recommend is buy some decent connectors and it will save you time and hassle, and likely your connections won't fail when you need them most, like in 110 F heat in the Summer in AZ. I think this tool is worth it if you get it on sale. don't pay full price, fit and finish is not worth it. its not a professional tool, it is for occasional use in my opinion. If you are a specialist and need a tool for all day everyday work then spend a bit more and get a true professional quality tool, with the kinks ironed out.
