Decent SMA Wrench
The end cap has a calibration Allen to adjust torque. Built solid.

Works Great!
Works great and very easy to use. I pulled it out of the box and put it to use right away.

Important Notes Before Use!
If you only screw your SMA connectors hand tight, you will inevitably get grossly incorrect and inconsistent results! So, it is necessary to used a wrench to tighten SMA connectors. How tight? 6 in-lbs is good for consistent electrical connection, 8 in-lbs for permanent vibration proof connection.IMPORTANT - the wrench comes without lubrication! You must apply oil to the elbow and internal cylindrical sliding surfaces, and a heavy grease to the ball surface - else excess friction will probably break your SMA connector! Once the tool is properly lubricated, it should be re-calibrated using known weight and length scales. With all this done, an SMA connector can easily take 6 to 8 in-lbs. torque - no problem!Do not push on the end of the torque wrench handle! When applying torque, remember that you are literally "applying torque" - not linear force. This means your hand and wrist should impart a twisting action. If there is any linear force applied to the tool, it will result in a combined force (sheer + bending + torsion) when all that is needed is a simple torsional force. Unnecessary combined force could break or damage a SMA connector or PC board.4 out of 5 stars because the tool is quite a bit bigger than expected or needed, which makes it somewhat less convenient to use.--a mechanical engineer

Low Torque Setting, Loose Connectors
It seems like the torque is set below spec. The connector become loose easily after barely been touched when torqued.

Just what you need without the high price!
You could pay a lot more for a tool like this, but I doubt you'd get that much more for your money. It's a simple tool, it does the job, and it's inexpensive!

Torque wrench works; but is not set correctly from the factory
The torque wrench does work, but was not set to a correct amount of torque (I tested it on a scrap PCB mount SMA connector just to see, and it was set tight enough to rip the connector off the board!). If you don't already have a way to calibrate and set this wrench to the right amount of torque, then I don't know how you can have confidence in using it.The whole point of an SMA torque wrench is to set the right amount of torque, and you apparently already have to have a torque wrench to set this one, or you have to construct a torque measurement jig with a moment arm and a 6-8 pound weight (!). If you can get it set the way you want it, though, it seems to work just fine.

Nothing too fancy - it just works well.
It works well, comes in a variety of colors (like that feature) and it’s very reasonably priced. Recommended!
