Excellent design and ultra quiet pump!!!
Awesome reactor! The pump is super quiet! Previously purchased the minimax reactor from Innovative marine and used for a week. The minimax pump was loud and the water flow generated a splashing noise. He pump was so loud I had to turn it off at night as my Red Sea cube is in my bed room. The acrylic work was what I I was drawn in initially by but the functionality was on the poor side. The sicce reactor is not as aesthetically advanced as the minimax but from a functional perspective, it is a much better reactor. I am sold on sicce products now, forget all the extra piping and connections with fancy acrylic design reactors, go for simple, reliable, functional, quiet, robust design. Sicce equipment is so affordable compared to other reef aquarium brands. I am very picky about aquarium equipment, This sicce reactor is one of my best equipment decision I have made in many years.

Wonderful internal filter, stronger than expected!
I got the Sicce Shark ADV 800 for my 40 gallon tank. I needed an internal filter since I'm housing a moray eel that requires a lid. This filter is unbelievably silent, and despite being compact, is much stronger than expected! I'll probably be getting a second one after getting a feel for it. As someone who works in home/business aquarium maintenance, my advice would be to get two of these if you're using it on a 40 gallon tank or larger. It'll help with water flow and because it's so compact, you'll want it for more filter media for beneficial bacteria to colonize in. My only gripe is that the filter compartments, despite being very modular and fun, are INCREDIBLY difficult to open for cleaning. It was not easy for me. This might just be an issue with my particular unit, but I have to use my heel and put pressure on the push tab of the lid to get it off, using all of my body weight. Nevertheless, it's durable, very customizable as far as filter media goes, and it's unobtrusive to look at. This filter is definitely worth buying, albeit on the more expensive side. If you don't desperately need a lid to keep your critters inside, a hang-on-back filter will be more affordable and work just as well.

A solid in tank filter with a good amount of power.
I use in-tank filters on a few 40 breeders, and this one seems to be one of the better-made ones thus far. But it is not perfect. The powerhead on the SICCE Shark ADV 600 Internal Filter is definitely a strong point; it is easily adjustable by a dial and is definitely Italian-made, efficient, silent, a solid unit. the return nozzle isn't my favorite, I wish it came with a few more options like a spray bar, or really any other attachments, but it is not a big detraction. My only main complaint is the single chamber with a sponge it comes with. The main selling point is the magnetic expandable chambers, yet you only get one and no guidance as to where to purchase more. I miss the old Ehiem intank that had 3 attachable chambers in the box... but in the absence of that product, this is probably the next best one so far for the price. It's not Tunze Comline, but it is very good for the price and I may buy a few more.

It’s loud (updated on 05/29/2024)
SICCE Shark ADV 800- Using the Venturi is extremely loud. I was expecting a higher flow rate. I like the magnetic chambers. Being able take all the chambers out without having to remove the pump is very nice. The filter has been running for approximately 24 hours. This is a new 29 gallon set up. The picture without the Venturi working was taken yesterday around 6:30am. All the other pictures were taken about 24 hours later. Update 05/29/2024: Stopped using the Venturi. Filter is running great and quiet. The water is crystal clear. Live plants have been added along with some driftwood. The water does have a slight tea color due to the tannins being released by the driftwood. Updated to 5 stars.

Perfect for my 29g betta tank
Great filter. I made myself crazy trying to find one that had good flow, but not too much, wouldn't suck up my fish, wasn't too basic, but not too complicated, not crazy expensive, or so cheap the parts would be weak and break- and just worked for me and my fish. I FINALLY FOUND IT, THANK YOU SICCE

Best filter I have ever owned!
This filter has excellent suction power! It cleans up cloudiness with the most amazing efficiency. I loved how when I go to clean it I don't have to remove the entire device. All it needs is a simple rinse (with cold water only) to maintain beneficial bacteria. Without the oxygen tube it's so quiet that you won't even know if it's on. They do need to fix the loudness when taking in oxygen.

Disappointed with my experience with this pump and company.
For years I have used hang on back filters. I recently got a new tank and wanted to try a cannister filter. After plenty of research, I came across this SHARK ADV400 pump by SICCE. It had lots of good reviews and seemed like a good filter for my 15 gallon application. My first problem I encountered was that the venturi system did not work. I followed the instructions exactly and ensured that I was properly setting up the pump. After several failed attempts, I concluded that the pump's venturi system did not work. The pump was very quiet and put out a very strong flow of water, which was good. The magnet system that allows you to quickly disconnect the filter chamber is pretty cool and worked as described. After looking through the filter, I realized that this filter did not have enough space for an adequate amount of sponge or floss or whatever you like to use. It essentially only uses mechanical filtration. It does not have a compartment for bio media or anything like that. I tried to contact customer support to get help and the website prompted me to create an account (yuck). So, I created the account. The system then asked me to check my email and verify my email address by clicking on the link provided. The link never came through. Yes, I checked my spam, junk and all folders looking for the email from SICCE. When it never came, I send the company a message via email letting them know what happened regarding the account registration. I asked them to have a customer service representative contact me via email. Its been 3 days and no contact has been made. I'm sure SICCE is probably a really good company with quality products. I'm simply stating what my experience has been. My recommendation is to stay with a hang on back filter for tanks under 50 gallons.

Noisy, Bad Adhesion. Get the Shark Pro For Sure!
I wish I would have started with the Shark Pro 900, but I didn't. The Shark Adv 800 had a ton of great reviews online about it, so I figured it was worth saving some money and getting this version. It was super easy to put together and the concept is amazing. However, when it came to two of the major functions, things were very lacking. First, the suction power is really bad. It would constantly "break free" from the glass aquarium, regardless of what I tried to do to get the suction cups to work properly. Second, the noise from the air line was way too much for the setting in the living room. We ended up removing the air hose part of the filter and it worked fine, but wouldn't stay in place. We then decided to try the Shark Pro 900 in its place. The noise is much lower and the magnet works fine as long as the glass aquarium isn't TOO thick. We found it to be a great alternative for us. There are some great thoughts from Sicce with the Shark systems. The pump works hard and the fact that you can customize what goes into the chambers is really, really beneficial. We now have two of the Pro 900s (one in freshwater and a second in saltwater), and they are working very well for us. I wish the same could have been said for the Adv 800, but at least Sicce pulled through with their newer models.
