Effective, well-made, and excellent value
Chunky, but effective. I use in a 64 litre tank with a comet and a ryukin (both notoriously messy fish) and its noticeably better than any in-built filter I've had before. The easy change cartridge system is a blessing, and it isn't enormously expensive buying replacement filter cartridges. The adjustable direction flow works well, as does the oxygenating venturi on top (I turn it off at night to let my fish rest). The real selling point is how quiet it is - I can barely hear it even when there's no other background noise.I only have one sole gripe - there's no adjustable flow rate, but that's really quite insignificant given all the other benefits.Highly recommended.

Gets far to hot and heats the tank water to a temperature not suitable for my fish .
Have replaced it with an aqua - flow 50 which is excellent and much easier to clean for the family and just as , if not more , effective in filtering the water with a much less complicated filtering system .The Fluval U2 is rather cumbersome with 3 sets of filters rather than the one in the aqua-flow which is simple for the children to clean weekly .Am returning the product as not being suitable for my family and less efficient than the aqua - flow .
