Works as described
Very happy with product, works as described. Produced a roaring fire in 1-2 minutes in my pizza oven. Obviously the dryer the wood kindling the quicker the fire gets established.

Made having a coal bbq so easy
Lit the bbq so quickly compared to lighter fluid Less mess and no lighter fluid smell needed to be used. Easy to use good quality. If you use a coal bbq this is a must have makes it so much easier and your quests aren’t waiting ages for the coal to heat up

Lights a BBQ in minutes
This lights a lump wood charcoal BBQ in less than 10 minutes. I've always has a gas and charcoal BBQ, with the gas being used when I didn't have the time to light charcoal. With this I can get a charcoal BBQ going in less than 10 minutes, which has made my gas BBQ obsolete. I can now BBQ whenever I want and easily and safely get my BBQ going. As I no longer require fire starters, using lump wood and my fire starter its being powered by my solar panels I know my BBQing is as environmentally friendly as it can be

A Pryomaniac's Best Friend
Remember when Elon Musk came up with a flamethrower and said “do not buy this flamethrower”. Everyone bought it anyway. OK, so to be clear - you do not need this. Nobody needs this. However it's incredibly good fun particularly if you aren't very good at getting a fire or a BBQ going or you just like 'man toys'. It's beats a chainsaw on the 'man-power-index' (citation needed). It could be a survival tool if it Makita come up with a 24V version that's a little bit more lightweight but realisically this is something to 'turbo-charge' a fire in the back garden that's not living up to expectations without messing about putting more firelighters and kindling on. It's also very theraputic once you get the roar of the 'jet blast' when the flames burst out from a fire that's either dead or you haven't yet started. Ray Mears will hate you if you buy one. Jeremy Clarkson already has one. Take your choice. If mine breaks, I will buy another one.

Very good but possibly dangerous
Works very well and quick on getting BBQ going. Unfortunately today using it for 4th time as I pulled the plug out of the socket the top came off leaving exposed wires. Luckily I had already turned off at the socket. On examination it looks like the screw holding top and bottom of the plug together had been over tightened as it had split the plastic it was screwed into.
