The NiceyRig Selfie Mirror is a camera tripod accessory for hardcore enthusiasts.What I mean by saying this is that it’s an accessory for an accessory and a lot of the negative reviews are from casual users who don’t realize this.PREREQUISITE TO USE:* Smartphone Mount W/ Hot Shoe Accessory Mount PointMaybe 33-50% of smartphone mounts on the market have the Hot Shoe Accessory Mount. It is a recess that lets you slide a piece of plastic into it. So if you take a lot of photos, you should not have a problem finding a compatible mount around the house.BACKGROUND:I purchased the product for ~30 USD, which is crazy expensive for a tiny mirror. But I am a photography nut and there is nothing else like this on the market at the time of writing other than the Ulanzi which is comparably priced.The reason I picked this specific mirror is that it is the largest selfie mirror available. One of the biggest criticisms around this type of product is that the mirror isn’t big enough to show to entire screen. The Ulanzi comes with the smartphone mount but the mirror is smaller and I already have mounts.BUILDThe quality of the materials somewhat reflect the price point. The mirror has good clarity and the frame is entirely cold metal. The accessory is light but sturdy.My biggest issue with the build quality is that the screws to adjust the mirror positioning are super tight. This makes the product slow and inconvenient to position. Also, I’m concerned with the longevity of the product because of this.USE:Despite being the biggest selfie mirror on the market, it still failed to reflect the entire smartphone display for my iPhone 15 Pro Max.In practice, what is reflected is more than big enough to get a good picture with the 1x Camera but it is not big enough for the 5x Camera. (The 5x camera has a focal length that is more true to life than the 1x camera reducing distortion and much better for portraits.)VERDICTOverall, I came in with incredibly low expectations and this mirror slightly exceeded those expectations which only leaves me somewhat satisfied. I would still begrudgingly purchase this item again.My feedback to NiceyRig is to loosen up the screws. Also, make a model with plastic and a lower price.

Nice mirror. Can easily see my iPhone screen, allowing me to record with the rear mirrors. I also have used this with my Sony a3000 camera and it works great! Would buy again.

A little clunky, but gets the job done!

This mirror is quite well made. (Be sure to peel away the protective plastic that covers the mirror, or you will think the glass is bad!) I'm using this with a Fujifilm X100V, and the mirror is not only larger than the flip up screen on the camera, but the glass is actually as wide as my camera itself. The frame is stiff enough to hold itself in place, but adjusting the mirror angle to fit my setup is still easy enough. The hot shoe mount and clamp are just right. This isn't the cheapest selfie mirror on the market, but I would MUCH rather spend a few bucks more for a quality product than endure frustration created by trying to save five or ten bucks.

Once you get the camera set you can then align yourself using the mirror so that you are in the correct spot. Be sure to turn on the grid for like 3rds to make it easier to see where you are in the frame. Cheap solution to a complex problem!

It works well and is easy to set up and use with an iPhone in a Beastcage.

In the past I've actually chosen which camera to buy based on whether it has a flip-out display, this solves that issue! Even if you use a phone to film videos it allows you to use the higher quality rear-facing camera rather than the lower-quality selfie camera. It also makes for a very sturdy hot-shoe mount for a light or other accessory. I'm also pretty impressed with the build quality! Not bad at all!
