Just what I wanted

I have a large welding blanket which is great for most times. But when you are in a tight spot, and need to protect something from heat, sparks, fire; this is what you need. Very soft and flexible, you can fit it anywhere. I'll be interested to see how these hold up to repeated abuse in high heat welding and cutting operations. They do attract a lot of dust, and get fairly dirty looking quickly in a shop environment. That is the only downside I see so far. Protection seems great when I've needed them.

Good quality felt

Crappy product and doesn’t provide protection. Go buy from a local supply house instead and get a quality product that works.

This is an excellent carbon felt welding blanket. It has held up well against heat and flame for brazing and is easy to fold or move to protect against flame and heat.

Should be good for catching or directing small hot stuff. 12x12, eyelets are good, a little discoloration after a quick hit with the torch but the paint behind it was fine. Very light, like that prefilter media you get. Seems good to me but remember it’s only 12 inches.

I ordered these to install a couple new tub faucets. I did not want to burn the backing wood frame nor stain the porcelain tiles while sweating the faucets. These blankets worked perfectly for this. They absorbed all the heat and only left the area behind them a little warm.

These welding blankets are really not blankets at all. They're 12" x 12", so they're more like washcloths, but in a tight space they do the job keeping a sputter or vapor off flammables or just from marring nearby surfaces. It's easy to clamp them into place in any direction as they are stiff, and won't just flop over.
