So far so good.
Nice little home printer. I like that it completely closes, keeping the dust out. So far it has printed with accurate color. To make a copy it requires multiple steps, which is a little annoying. You have to choose all your options as opposed to just clicking copy. I'm not sure if there's a work around for this.

DVD/CD TRAY LOCATION
This is a great printer. Easy to use. Prints sharp, crisp, vibrant photos. The DVD/CD Tray is located at the bottom side of the last (bottom) paper tray. Just pull out that tray, turn it over, and slide out the DVD/CD Tray.

XP6100 is fine for low volume work
My daughter needed a printer for college that could handle low volume color work. The Epson XP6100 fits the bill for those needs.Let me begin by mentioning what we don’t use it for. We haven’t tried the scanner feature or printing photos. I know that many buyers are interested in those features, but I have no advice to give there. To begin, we needed a wireless, small, color printer. The Epson hits all those marks. It has a small enough footprint to fit on a dorm desk without taking up too much space and weight is certainly not an issue. Print quality is fine for what she needs. Colors are sharp and printing is readable. I’ll always be a laser fan, but I don’t go blind trying to read output from this. Setup was very easy; ink cartridges snap into place effortlessly. These days you need a printer to which you can send jobs from various devices and we’ve had no problem with that with or without wireless. At home the printer connected to our network easily (with the exception of having to enter the password on the small screen input panel). But, since her dormitory does not allow wireless access for printers, we were glad that Epson’s wireless direct allows any phone, iPad, or computer to send a print job directly and it works wonderfully. There are a few negatives with the Epson as well. The input screen is not a touch screen, so you have to navigate with buttons (that’s why it’s so hard to type in a password). In creating a small footprint, Epson had to tuck away the paper trays. The front panel is comprised of two hinged sections. To load paper (separate trays for standard size and photo size) you fold down the bottom of the panel, pull out the paper tray, load and push in. When printing, you fold up the top of the panel, pull out the output tray and then print. This tray system works fine - it just struck me as strange having never seen it before. It also will take only Epson print cartridges, so I’m not looking forward to the first time it runs out of ink.I wish the documentation had been a little more thorough, but there are online guides and I’ve found a couple of You Tube videos that help with setup and features. The wireless and print direct features seemed fairly intuitive, but I’ve had quite a bit of experience with printers. I could see how a person might struggle with setup if this was his/her first printer ever so those online resources could come in handy.Overall the Epson XP6100 fits my daughter’s needs perfectly. For the price, I’d recommend it.

Falls Just A Little Bit Short
This printer does a nice job as far as the finished product goes. I wouldn't suggest it for a first choice for someone. It doesn't have a touch screen which I didn't realize when I purchased it. As a hobby photographer I was wanting a photo/document printer with slots for SD card and USB so probably on me that I didn't notice it's all manual to change settings with up and down arrows! I am going to keep it rather than go through the return process at this point. It was fairly easy to set up and isn't so difficult to use just a bit of a pain to have to "set" the features each time for paper, trays, etc. I guess my best suggestion is to stop, take the time to look at all the features you want and then if in doubt fire your questions for others to help with answers and suggestions.

Difficult to set up. Doesn't like refurbished ink cartridges.
VERY difficult to set up! Much is due to it being very hard to make it communicate with the computers consistently, whether via WiFi OR USB cord! Less convenient to use with discs than my previous (no longer available) Epson disc printers. I'm now able to use it, but often with issues after some weeks have passed since previous use. I had similar inconsistencies getting it to work with my phone. It works when it "feels like it". But it often doesn't appear to "feel like" working!I thought it wasn't allowed for printers to refuse to work when they detect non-official (Epson) ink cartridges! I got one set of refurbished cartridges to work, but when I had to replace one of the color cartridges, the printer refused to work until I ordered a full set of Epson cartridges and replaced the empty color cartridge with one from those, it worked! At 3 times the cost of the refurbs! I've NEVER, in over 20 years of using all refurbished cartridges, been unable to use them successfully in any previous HP or Epson printer! BAD behavior, Epson! Also, the control screen (not a touch screen) is very hard to use, especially when the lighting isn't the best for illuminating the buttons for manipulating the cursor and selecting.

XP 830 replaced by XP 7100
We had an XP830 since 2015 but it started have excessive ink usage. As well as the ink usage we also had problems with black streaks on any photos we were printing. So I took a gamble on replacing the XP830 with the newer version called the XP7100.Have used it primarily in the initial two weeks of usage for photo printing. It is doing a fantastic job!Photo quality is excellent and ink usage is low.I use only high gloss photo paper for my prints and the results are professional quality.(IMO)Very satisfied with my purchase>

Good enough for this price
Easy to use, just connect to Wi-Fi. Good enough 4 in 1 household printer at this cost. I like Epson.

Printing made easy...
I've always used another brand of printer in the past. That said, I decided to purchase an Epson printer this time around...and I'm glad I did. The ease and quality of the printing is awesome. The compact housing of the printer/scanner is a great. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase.

Average
Ok, so I used to test printers for HP, so I know how to set up, work with, troubleshoot and jam the crap out of a printer. So first up the initial ink will run out fast, so plan to buy more quick. It was frustrating at first everytime I turned the printer on it seemed to lose 1/5 of ink. Then I bought new cartridges and it's been a lot better, I plan to get the xl ones next purchase.Second there may be some connection issues. My PC and my phone both connect to it fine, all the time no problem. However my wife's PC constantly has errors connecting to it. Figured out for some reason it installed a wired, and network version and the wired was taking default. I ran the Epson printer connection trouble shooter and found this. Windows trouble shooter did Jack. Based on some of the other reviews I've seen with connection issues, it may not be the problem, but definitely check it's going to the correct print queue. The print quality in premium white media is average. Haven't tried to use photo paper or anything, but even changing setting quality, images feel like a late 90's early 2000 printer and will get some streaking.I'm happy with it, and having it connect to my phone is awesome, so take it as you will.
