It talks to my boiler. A no bells and whistles thermostat that saves £'s
Had one of these portable little gems in my old flat. But reluctantly, obviously, had to leave it behind. So I bought this one for my new place. A small Bungalow. This stat replaces an old Horstmann programmer and wireless stat that was already here, That is basically next to useless. Just one door away and does not talk to the boiler. It just ran and ran. Wasting valuable gas! This Salus stat is relatively easy (If you are in any doubts, please get an Electrician.) to wire up. I have the receiver fitted in my boiler cupboard and the Room Stat in my spare (The coldest) back bedroom. Roughly, as the crow flies about 8 meters away, and 3 closed doors in between. I.e. The bedroom door, Small hallway to living room door and the boiler cupboard door. This stat talks to my boiler through all that! And I am sure the signal would travel through more than that. And its a no frills stat. I really cannot be bothered with all the daily, hourly etc, programming palarvor that others do.. I just want it as Auto, on and off at my set temperature and that's it. I don't want complicated bells and whistles. It is a damn fine stat. Saving me £'s on energy bills like my previous one did.I can highly recommend these Salus Thermostats.Experiment with the rooms in your place. Find the sweet spot. Keep warm...Enjoy! 🫠

Good value
Easy to install replaced a Honeywell thermostat that had a dodgy display.this is far simplerHas a nice.clear display with arrows to change the temp and a backlight that comes on whilst pressing buttons.receiver replacement was straight forward,,a live and neutral going into the unit and a pair of wire across the normal open circuit and common.it was like for like on mine and quickly responds for demand within a couple of seconds.thermostat blends in next to light switch as only slightly bigger but obviously much deeperHad salus before good value

Easy to fit. It’s not programmable just a simple wireless thermostat.
I bought this as my central heating system relied on thermostatic valve to regulate with no room thermostat. As the boiler has an inbuilt programmer I wanted only a wireless room thermostat that I could move between the kitchen and lounge. It does this admirably and doesn’t lose connection! As to fitting this is pretty straightforward. I have a Worcester Bosch FS550 highflow so was a bit apprehensive about compatibility but it’s fine! I used some 4 core cable which allowed me to run the required power and thermostat cables as a single cable. A 3 core could be used but that would require a jumper for the live and I wanted to run a separate live from the boiler. The connections in the boiler were all found in terminal block ST10 and comprised live (L), neutral (N), live supply to thermostat (Ls) and live return from the thermostat (Lr). The last 2 had a jumper installed which I removed. On the wireless unit I wired the live and neutral to the live and neutral and the Ls to the COM and the Lr to the NO terminals, hence the 4 core cable. When I switched it on the wireless thermostat started communicating with the base unit and all was working fine. Remember to leave it to do its pairing for a few minutes.I’ve since tested it out to ensure on reaching the desired temperature it switches the boiler off and then comes on when the temperature drops. All went ok and I now have a mobile thermostat, albeit with a stand that keeps falling off when I move it.It’s a great little unit and does what it says it’ll do.Hope this helps

Battery Life is Terrible, Unit keeps failing
I brought this unit to control an outbuilding. Whilst the unit was reasonably easy to fit, the reliability is an issue. First of all the battery life is about a month. These are good quality name brand alkaline batteries and I get a month. Worse when the battery goes flat you put in a Fresh pair, it doesn't work. You have to remove the old batteries. Wait about 10-20 minutes then put in the new set. I have had the unit not work for a least a week or two. Then it will restart again. So the reliability is not good.I have contacted Salus to organise a replacement under the 5 year guarantee. They have asked to send in the unit. This means taking the unit out leaving dangerous bare wires. Waiting for the unit to be posted to them and they state they need to "test" before sending out a replacement. Again this will leave my out building with no heating control. Fortunately it is now warm enough so it is not so serious. However imagine if this was in Winter! So unimpressed with the 5 year guarantee. Its only a £30 unit, I have spent at least £10 on feeding it batteries. I need to post it to them. Then if they feel its not a fault, will they charge to send it back? So in reality the guarantee is useless. So can't really recommend this product.
