This book has many good points to recommend it
This book has many good points to recommend it, depending on your interests and skills. It would be a good reference for anyone contemplating construction of a greenhouse of one of several possible construction styles. It goes into considerable detail on both stand alone and lean-to style enclosures, as well as some detail on hoop style models. It is best read as a sort of overview survey of construction fundamentals applicable to the described configurations. Most of the description is in the form of text, and some with numbered paragraphs. While there are some drawings, most of the description is textual. If there is ever to be a later edition, I suggest the author replace at least some of the text description with drawings. While it would be possible for a construction neophyte to successfully construct a greenhouse of one of the included configuration styles with nothing more than this book for a reference, I think most readers would want to augment his or her library with additional construction references. If you are tool-handy and have built various other projects, I think you will find this book somewhat elementary. On the other hand, if you are a total newbie and have never even built a doghouse, this book will serve nicely as an introduction to construction and design skills in such structures and also includes a liberal assortment of different greenhouse styles for your reading pleasure. In other words, for the newbie at construction, this book can serve as a nice introduction to fundamentals of different types of greenhouse styles and their construction. I think it likely that anyone seriously interested a personal construction project will augment this book with additional references that clarify details. In other words, I can recommend this book as a sort of introductory overview to an assortment of different greenhouse styles and their construction, but if this were your sole reference, you would want to have some close at hand friends to help you with the myriad of little questions a first time constructor will encounter. In still other words, for the "right" audience, this book will be a useful asset ... but for many others, additional help will probably be needed.

Building your own Greenhouse
I just moved to the mountains and needed a versatile guide that was both easy to understand and gave me alot of choices. This book filled all my needs and offered lots and lots of pictures. I am not a carpenter or a designer just a determined female who now has the tools to build a greenhouse. My neighbor is a carpenter by trade and was also impressed by this book. He keeps borrowing it!!!!! Virginia Hawkins Glennville California

Guide to Building Your Own Greenhouse
When it says step-by-step it is. This book is written in simple step by step instructions but first covers the essentials to greenhouses, types of greenhouses, and everything you need to know and decide if you want a greenhouse. It is well written, easy to understand, simple yet informative. A small but extremely packed with just what you need to know.
