Very Good Sound & Value
At the price point, this is a very good sounding multi-function audio device.I bought it to use in my home office, mainly for the FM radio and CD functions. But it also works nicely for streaming. I live in a medium sized city with numerous FM broadcasters, and find that the included antenna (wired into the back and can be extended to approximately three feet in length) provides very good reception. The sound is crisp and clear from the tweeters, good midrange and adequate bass (but not deep or booming).I don't find the sound to be quite as good as the, now out of production, Bose Wave Radio/CD. But at the price, the AIWA is, IMHO, a great value for money.

A Value Compared to Bose!
I bought this for my wife. She used CD players to listen to audio books while doing jigsaw puzzles or other hand work. She has worn out several less expensive boombox type of CD players. She loves the looks, the footprint and the SOUND of this player. It's sound is similar to our BOSE at a fraction of the price. Therefore, a Great Value! Stunning Looks and vary versatile with the Bluetooth capability. I'll write another review after using it for a year!

Has its good points and bad points.
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I was attracted by the sleek compact size of this unit, good sound quality, its blue tooth that connected flawlessly, inclusion of a quality cd player and the positive past experiences I have had with Aiwa products. On the negative side the only controls for this unit are via the remote control...sort of like most flat screen tv's. There are no tone controls. The bass and treble are fixed and not adjustable. My FM reception is not great at my home with most receivers I've tried. This one is a bit below average on FM reception.

GREAT SOUND AND PRICE
The other reviews give you the details. Sounds very much like my old Bose wave radio at half the price. IN MY OPINION A STEAL WITH ITS GREAT SOUND AND PRICE.

A beautiful stereo, but not what I want it
This item the stereo was not what I want it, so I returned it. Happy with my new stereo that I ordered.

This Aiwa is ok, but not a home run
In the spirit of full disclosure, I worked at Bose for 30 years, and have a stable of wave radios. But alas, nothing lasts forever. I have been looking for a replacement, as Bose stopped selling them many years ago. This Aiwa is a swing and a miss.Pros: functionality. This unit has the features I was looking for. Stereo FM/CD Bluetooth. And the price is reasonable (unlike wave radios)Cons: The sound quality just isn’t there. This unit lacks loudness compensation, which means that at low volumes it sounds tinny. FM reception is not great, and the volume step between 2-3 on the control seems pretty big. This means that you might have a hard time finding a comfortable listening level at low volumes. The remote works well, although setting and retrieving presets is a little awkward. All in all it’s ok, but not a home run.

Sounds Great!
My mother wanted an under-the-counter CD player for her kitchen, but they seem to be difficult to find these days unless used. Knowing AIWA has been in the stereo business for decades, I decided to go with this unit. She LOVES it! We added a riser stand that the CD player sits on and she can keep some CDs underneath. The sound is surprisingly good for such a compact unit. It's quality built and has a nice weight to it. It's also very easy for her to use. The included remote control is a nice bonus so she can control it without having to walk over to it.

The sound is fine; radio preset programming is impossible.
Like many other reviewers, I bought this to replace my defunct fifteen-year-old Bose Wave. The sound of the Aiwa is fine; the CD player functions well. The radio also sounds good...BUT, as many others have noted, loading the radio presets is difficult to impossible. I spent 45 minutes trying to put in my go-to stations, only to have the presets not work. I tried again another day; still no-go. If I want to change radio stations, it's a process of continuous clicking on the remote. (Maybe Aiwa needs to talk to Bose about remote design, too...)
