These are very pretty and I'm delighted with the wreath I made. But the sticky dots are awful. I gave up and switched to Super Glue gel to attach them to alligator clips. Once the glue was dry, they clipped to my wreath and I believe they will be secure on our front door unless we have a tornado or something! UPDATE: I used these to make a Lenten wreath for our front door. After being out doors for about 6 weeks, the side of each wing that faced out is no longer purple, but rather a kind of dusty rose. They're still pretty, just not as pretty as they were. When I put them on the wreath, they matched the ribbon. Today, when I switched the wreath for our Easter wreath, the ribbon appeared markedly different. I can't say if it faded at all, but it is at least still purple. I'm puzzled why they only faded on the one side, since the door faces north and the porch is covered. They were exposed to some unusual temperature changes for our area - 16°F to 70°F - but if that was going to change the color, it seems like it would've affected both sides. In other news, the Super Glue gel held the butterflies securely to the metal alligator clips, even though it is often quite windy at my house. I'm going to keep the wreath and use it again for Advent.
