GM 1 Wire Alternator Self Exciting 63 Amp New Delco one wire 10SI SBC BBC Replacement for Chevy 350 GM Ford 334-2614 7127SEN

I bought this alternator for a 1941 John Deere B tractor (with electric start & lights). It had been converted to 12v, negative ground by a previous owner many years ago. The old 10SI "3-wire" alternator was frozen up from prolonged exposure to the elements. I installed this new unit and rewired the tractor - and yes only one wire from the terminal on the new alternator to the tractor's amp meter on the dash. It is working perfectly providing 13-14+/- volts of charge to my 12v battery (tested with a volt meter). It also keeps the three 12v lights nice and bright when I drive at night. It has been on the tractor for a couple months now and so far so good. I painted the raw silver aluminum housing black to match the look of the old Delco-Remy 6v generators that the tractor originally came with. Happy with the price and how easy it was to wire/install. These one wire alternators simply work! I’ve used about 4 of these over the past year in multiple vehicles to simplify wiring. They also have the necessary connections in order to plug in your old volt meter gauge wiring.

This alternator is great. Fast delivery. I will order again when another projects needs and alternator. Added this to my John deere tractor. Great addition to keep my battery charged. Nicely made. Looks like a Delco without a label.

arrived on time and packaged well. it was a replacement that was installed on an old 8N ford tractor. this one excites at a much lower RPM than the previous one. It starts genning almost immediately on start, even as low as 700 RPM.

Used on a 1952 Chevrolet inline 6 as part of a 12 volt conversion. Only minor modifications to the original generator mounting bracket and transfer of old belt pulley was needed. It activated right away on startup without having to put in an "exciter light".

Exactly what we wanted

Absolutely not self exciting. Tried every trick in the book to even get this to excite and it wont. All i should need is over 1500rpm and 12v from battery and it should charge which it doesn't
