Small, beautiful and sounds great!
This isn't the cheapest option for a digital radio but I'm delighted with it. The sound quality is excellent, it is easy to use and connects well with my phone if I want to listen to audiobooks etc. check the size carefully before purchasing - it is tiny - but for me that is part of its appeal! Rechargeable so great for taking on holiday or on a day trip. The volume doesn't go incredibly loud, but it's good enough for me. Very happy with my purchase

Cute but powerful
I have two Roberts FM radios' and a teas-made with a built-in FM radio, all three were picking up interference on the particular radio station I like to listen to when I get up. So decided to go for a small DAB radio.Found this little cutie and knowing how good Roberts radio's are (from experience plus I have a DAB radio in the kitchen), I decided to go for it.WOW! is an understatement! Not only did this tune in to my fav., station easily, it doesn't even need the aerial up. And on FM, it picked up the station really well, almost like it was sucking in the signal and boosting it!The tone is beautiful and not tinny. You can set the alarm to wake with either a buzzer or the radio. Mine's set to the radio and it comes on, gently increasing to the volume I set, so you won't jump out your skin! The alarm can be set to weekdays only or everyday. V. useful. It is very portable, very sturdy and has a solid feel to it.Just One gripe is the size of the screen display. But, lets face it, once you set it to your favourite radio station do you really need to look at it?All-in-all it is a lovely bit of kit and I would highly recommend it.

A treat for your ears and eyes.
Perfect radio with a few cons. It sounds amazing and I like the natural tonality, very good reception. Display has everything needed and it's brightness goes very dim. Buttons are clicky and they easy to find in the dark by touching. The whole radio feels premium and it's just so cute. One medium con. The knob could've been a station select or at least a volume control, but it's frequency scanning which is the least useful function to me. To change the station you need to long press the knob to open Menu, then short press the knob to select Recall Preset -menu and then scroll list to select the station and apply it by pressing the knob. Three presses and some turns of the knob just to change the station. Imagine the ammount of presses if you like to surf the stations. This is also too complicated to do without looking and it doesn't help that the preset stations are saved by frequencies not by names. One minor con. If I could I would change is scale of volume levels. You can barely hear level 2 and level 3 is too loud. In the silent room volume levels really makes a difference when falling to sleep. There are 20 levels and I never need higher than level 5.Last words. The price was quite high with all the shipping and customs but I think it's worth it. I went throu like 50 radios when I was finding the right bedside radio for me. This is it. I hope this radio will last a very very long time and can be fixed when it finally breaks.

Lovely little gem of a radio
I've only had this Roberts Petite 2 radio for a few days, but I'm pleased with it so far.The controls, sockets etc. are shown well enough on the product page, so I won't go into that.My overall impression is that it's a pleasing little design classic. It's tiny, but it has weight to it.The sound is superb, with a "tardis" like quality. When I sit it on top of my desktop monitor speaker, people think they are hearing that. There are a few upgrades that would need to be made, in order for it to be a perfect radio for me...The large knob on the front disappointingly does NOT change the volume, and can not be set to do so. The surrounding four buttons are responsive, but they look and feel cheap. IMHO the quality of the buttons and knob, lets down the otherwise excellent design. Then again, the controls are all easy enough to use, and the volume is certainly reliable, which is often not the case with these light-touch buttons.I'm unusual maybe, in that I just want it to be tuned to one radio station, so the selector knob is something I never use. It'd be nice if this knob could be set to be the volume.I'd say that the radio design is more modelled on a Tolex-covered Marshall amp, than design features of past Roberts Radio models. Having said that, I think they pull it off well, and have come up with a winner. There is no EQ. That's a major minus, for old codgers like me, who'd like to be able to cut the bass and boost the treble, so that speech can be better heard, without a boom.Features I'd like to see on the next model would be wifi, for internet radio, UPnP, an SD Card/USB reader, for MP3s etc.I'd also like to see 2-way Bluetooth, so that it could also be used as a source.I look forward to seeing some of these features on the next iteration perhaps? This really is a nice little gem of a radio however, and I'm certainly pleased that I bought it.
