This gate is great for so many uses. Work, home, school, anywhere you need to close off a area with a easy to install super durable gate. Screws in one side and the gate easily retracts across to the other side and hooks with one hand!!

This retractable gate seems to be fairly nicely designed, although it has its issues. The vinyl panel has a durable feel to it, and the retracting mechanism works smoothly for the most part. The locking feature is a nice aspect of this particular gate, but it is temperamental and often sticks. I actually found it rather annoying to use. Installation takes a little preparation, but it’s not difficult by any means. The only other hiccup we encountered is that the bottom bracket mount of the main unit is not adjustable. Meaning, it can’t slide up or down to accommodate for floorboards or other baseboard molding. So, we ended up having to change our plans on where we were going to use this. It’s working well for a hallway that accesses the laundry room, but we were hoping to use it at the top of our stairs. However, we have baseboards around that area, so we couldn’t install this all the way to the floor in that area. As a plan B, it’s working fairly well. I probably wouldn't order this particular brand and style of gate again. It just doesn't have a high quality feel to it. It's more of a low-budget option in my opinion.

The gate itself is nice but I found the locking mechanism difficult to operate. Perhaps over time, it will get easier, but it certainly isn’t easy for me now. It requires that you push a button and turn a knob that you also have to push down. I just can’t imagine it can be done with one hand. I find it hard enough to turn the knob so how could anyone push down the button too simultaneously. I’d certainly like to see them do it. Even with two hands, it’s not easy and I guess for some people that works as an extra measure of safety as a child could never do it. It would keep me though from opening this gate often. In other respects, this gate is nice. The material used seems durable enough and the gate looks clean and neat when closed. It can be locked while it is open so it doesn’t retract rapidly when let go which is a huge plus for me. I have about 8 different gates from various manufacturers and this is the one I’ve found toughest to operate.

The gate is simple to use and operate and keeps my baby safe.

Looks great. Easy to install anywhere. The latch is sturdy and overall it’s less bulky than a traditional plastic baby gate. We love it! I would definitely recommend.
