After remodeling a bathroom a few decades ago and fighting endlessly trying to sweat copper pipes and get a good seal while not catching the house on fire with the blow torch, I dreaded the project when a bathtub/shower valve in our recent house needed to replaced. Always rely on Sharkbite connectors. I have used them to make a number of otherwise difficult plumbing repair jobs rather easy. I have some that have been in place for many years with no failures.

You need to buy a gasket to go with this. It does not come with one.

Never used press-on fittings before but now I wouldn't use anything else unless required by code. Easy to use, just press on (make sure you fully press pipe into fitting.) Works as designed and better than getting out the solder.
