This is a fantastic TV box, (setup is slightly complicated but easy enough for most) as it is an additional box to provide apps not available on our so called "Smart TV" in another room where certain media in particular discovery plus are not available due to browser incompatibilities . The Thomson is more than an upgrade,with a built in speaker, and talk command ability provides easy control of your viewing needs, and it does everything one needs for multimedia requirements with true 4K movies,tons of apps, GOOGLE based access to all Web based media, Kodi,discovery plus,etc.(These are standard on our living room TV) As this is such a good value /price i am looking now to replace the box in our motorhome for great TV access and I would definitely recommend this product.

The Thomson Streaming Box 270UK was easy to set up, updated itself quickly, and the menus were smooth and simple to navigate. It has the look and feel of a high quality unit, the remote is easy to use (and paired with my LG tv without any fuss) and moves around the Apps and menus without being slow or clunky like some budget boxes can be. The 4K streaming quality is excellent, Shows and films look sharp and colourful, and it’s handled Prime Video, Apple+ and YouTube in 4K with no buffering or stuttering. It also supports HDR in some apps, which give a noticable sharper picture on my TV. Would strongly recommend this steaming box ! and having obtained just before Xmas for under £70, consider this purchase a bargain !

Looks good, easy to set up , , connected up straight away to the wifi, can also be eternet connected. All apps are available for this as well. You are not limited to what Amazon want you to download only. Compared to a Firestick , this thing is like lightning speed. The remote actually feels like its got a bit of quality about it and did not fall out of a christmas cracker like the fire stick one. Shows what can be done when Amazon Prime are not trying to take over your life and the things you own.

Nice box, fast and responsive, good remote too, feels quality. Have recurring issues with BBC Iplayer which had to be sideloaded. Not Thomsons fault but the absence of the App at startup is a nuisance. Only bought because Amazon continually interferes with my Fire TV devices.

Thompson TV box is brilliant for the price, great picture, and very quick and remote is easy to use. WiFi connection is really good and fast. The only tiny gripe is that it had to uninstall itvx, channel five and chanel4 and reinstall them. For the price this is a great piece of kit and would definitely recommend it.👍

The Thomson 270 UK Plus box is fine for general use — setup was straightforward, and the picture quality is good for the price. The interface is simple enough, and streaming most channels works smoothly. However, it doesn’t support BBC iPlayer, which is a real letdown. In 2025, that’s a noticeable gap for anyone who watches a lot of BBC content. Overall, it’s an OK device but lacks one of the key catch-up services you’d expect these days.

Overall a great attractive loooking box for the price and sure more people will end up buying this now that the Firestick options are limited to what you can do with them. Easy to operate, if you are familiar with Android OS, you'll find everything easily. Lots of available standard streaming applications (Netflix, Prime Video, ITVx, Channel 4, 5, YouTube etc and more). Fast WiFi connectivity and no issues with the signal in the room furthest away from the Router. Whilst BBCiPlayer isn't "Officially" available, it is possible to sideload this fairly easily if you do a simple Google Search to find out how. The only main issue I have is with the "known" problem with Disney+ and it playing jerkily/frame jumping. Even if you have the box set to match frame rate, that doesn't work with Disney+ (plenty of Google results on that issue, and it's being worked on for a future software update). I've not marked it down for this, as it still works, and there are manual workarounds such as messing with the refresh rate to force 24hz and that does work (but that then breaks it for every other app and have to change it back to Automatic). Remote is comfortable to hold. There isn't a play/pause button in that sense, just the centre circular button performs both actions. Overall, happy with first impressions and see how this lasts longer term.

This is a brilliant tv box, had several android boxes, but this it a few levels above, easy to set up, runs smoothly with zero lag upto now, nice UI layout and can easily sideload any app, worth the extra cost imo
