EMG57/66 Bridge and Neck Humbucker Guitar Pickups Set, Black Chrome

I had the 81/85 installed in a Les Paul Tribute but found both pickups to be too boomy and in the case of the 85 very muddy on overdriven lead.The 57/66 solves most of the shortcomings I found in the 81/85. The 57 is still powerful and chuggy but with better clarity. It does have an upper mid range sizzle that I'm not crazy about but can be tamed with EQ.The 66 is awesome, you get the those thick syrupy Les Paul neck lead tones with clarity and articulation, something that was lost in the 85.Combine the two and adjust some levels and tone and you can get some stunning chimey, bell like clean tones.All in all a very good set complemented by the awesome quick connect system which makes install a breeze.
