Great primer (or all you need to know) on Bitcoin
Full Disclosure: The author and I have been friends for many years. That said, I found this book very good at giving a complete overview of what Bitcoin is and why people should be aware of it. And I would highly recommend it to anyone who keeps hearing about this Bitcoin stuff but has no idea what everyone is talking about.I reached out to Mark recently and asked him if he could recommend a technical book on Bitcoin. Really detailed, protocols, API, sort of stuff. He made an excellent recommendation, Andreas Antonopoulos' Mastering Bitcoin, and while purchasing that book I bought Mark's as well.I was really glad I did because reading Mark's book, while thorough, left me wanting to know more. I've designed payment systems before and various passages had me wondering how this or that was accomplished on a technical level. Fortunately Antonopoulos' book filled in those gaps very nicely. This book will bring anyone up to speed on how Bitcoin works and even on how to set up an address and buy your first Bitcoin. The book also attempts to make the case as for why Bitcoin should fit into the public's mind view of traditional currencies (USD, GBP, EUR, etc) and even gold. Based on the title, it's not hard to guess that Mark's opinion is that Bitcoin is superior to those other currencies but each reader will ultimately have to make that decision for themselves.

Simplicity is the Ultimate Sophistication
Da Vinci said "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication."I interpret that to mean, if you can't explain something simply, the you don't understand it. I trust those who can simplify and synthesize and come to where I am and speak to me in my language and lead me to what I don't know.Mark Jeffrey does exactly this. The Case for Bitcoin is the first book (I have read five books and countless articles) that has successfully connected the dots between what I understand and what I don't even know exists, let alone comprehend. I appreciated this book as an example of sime and direct language even more than it's intended message.

this is a great resource. Well written and factual details
Very in depth discussion and information on bitcoin and the future it's heading towards. I think he nailed the block chain arguments and unless quantum computers come out in the next 10 years, I agree. New gold? Maybe... but probably not, it's just bitcoin. If you're looking to invest or get your hands on some bitcoin, this is a great resource. Well written and factual details.
