Not a fan of the taste
These protein bars have a fudgey texture, with a layer of caramel and some crispy peices on top. It looks very nice but it's really let down by the flavour which tastes weird with artificial sweeteners. It doesn't even taste sweet, just kind of tasteless. Not a fan. Good nutrition though

Fantastic peanut butter taste and loads of protein. Keeps me full and energised. Highly recommend!

Good peanut butter consistency and taste
I’m reviewing the peanut crunch flavour here, and the flavour and the texture are the best things about them. There’s a slight gooiness to them, and a flavour that tastes like sticking a spoon into a jar of real peanut butter and just eating it straight from the spoon- and pretty good quality peanut butter at that, better than Reese’s. The very thin chocolate-flavoured coating is present enough to add just a little choc flavour but it’s the peanut butter that dominates. There’s also a very very thin sliver of gooiness along the top of the bar which has a texture like jaffa cake goo and leaves me wanting more of it. Some of the numbers and ingredients list let it down just slightly. For a start the current asking price works out at over two quid per bar, and for the simple size of these bars and for how satisfying they are, over two quid is too steep. They’re not as tiny as a Milky Way, for example, but neither are they as large as a Snickers- and protein Snickers are cheaper than this. The small print on the back of the bar doesn’t impress as much as I’d hoped. The ‘high protein’ of 15g in a bar isn’t as high as some, and the ingredients list, while vegan, has too many sweeteners too high up the list for my liking. If I was judging these on flavour alone though, I’d be giving them five stars.

Really great tasting bar, which will fill your chocolate craving!
I suppose the most important thing here is, how do they taste? Well, very nice indeed actually! Which is pretty unusual for a protein bar of this type - I've tried a good few and disliked most. My only real issue with the flavour, is I don't really get cookies and cream. I get chocolate and a nutty flavour, with some toffee and vanilla thrown in... Perhaps a little biscuit taste too, but not what I would specifically describe as cookies and cream. On opening the wrapper (which is quite thick and feels good) you're greeted by what essentially looks like a chocolate bar. It feels substantial when bitten into. You get the chocolate coating, then a caramel toffee- like thin layer over a chewy centre. There are biscuit- like pieces in there too. It's very pleasant and the bars are very satisfying. The 48g bars contain 18g of protein, in the form of pea and soya for the most part (but I promise, you can't taste either). There are a few artificial sweeteners to keep an eye out for if you have issues there. My only negative really, is the price. You get twelve bars in the branded carton here, making them around £2 each at the time of review. It's on the expensive side, but to be fair on VOW, it isn't any more than similar brands available.

Delicious protein bars
These protein bars are surprisingly tasty. They're a good size, with 16g of protein in each vegan friendly bar and they taste delicious. Each bar is chocolate covered, with a chewy consistency. They contain small biscuit bits that give the bars a nice crunch and there's a rather indulgent layer of very gooey cream, which adds to the lovely 'cookies and cream' flavour. This is one of the nicest protein bars I've tried. My husband likes to take one with him when he's out on a long run - they keep him going and keep hunger pangs at bay. He loves the flavour of these ones - they're more like an indulgent treat than a protein bar, plus they don't leave an unpleasant after taste like some protein bars do. We really like these bars - they're quite possibly a new favourite for us :)

15g Protein per Bar
VOW Protein Bar - 12 x 48g The protein bars come in the manufacturers branded box and contain 12 x 48g snack bars. These bars are really nice tasting with a variety of mouth feel textures from the ingredients used. You get the soft bite though the chocolate and the crunch with the added nuts, I would even say that these snack bars would even be suitable for denture wearers as they were not a tough or difficult chew. The flavour is nice, tastes sweet but not overly or sickly and has a very low sugar count too. One thing I did notice is that I did not experience the protein aftertaste which is usually always there but not with these but I'm sure which ingredients disguised it so well.

As protein bars go, these are up there
I've tried quite a few protein bars as I've been looking for snacks that 'give more' in terms of filling a gap and not containing too much sugar. These VOW bars are up there with some of the nicer ones I've had. The taste isn't overally 'protein' as you can get with some bars, which I'm pleased with as I don't enjoy those that taste that way. Does this taste like a standard chocolatey bar? No, but you can't expect it to when it's packed with high protein and low sugar and these ones are quite good considering they're part of the protein bar category. The outside and the topping is the best part on the bar and I particularly like the nutty taste with this flavour, although I'd say they could do with having more nuts to be honest as that would make these even better. At around £2 per bar (at the time of this review), they're on par with what similar protein bars I've had cost, and despite me wishing protein bars would come down in price so they're comparable with other snack bars, these ones are a fair price set amongst others of a similar type.
