Just built my shed...man cave! Was just going to fit a normal static vent,but came across this item instead! Unlike most solar vents this one has a battery back up.runs on solar energy during the day also while recharging the battery.then when sun goes down the battery kicks in running the vent almost constantly.it was easy to install, looks good and works better than I was expecting! Glad I bought and would recommend!

Absolutely dead when it arrived, but the fan runs when the unit is outside, can turn it off with the touch button.Charged to 80% on the LED display after a few hours in cloudy June weather.The back door is glued on with a white silicone glue. I imagine this is to prevent water ingress, but it isn't very neat, a rubber gasket would have been better.Battery pack is 4x 18650 cells, 2 in series, 2 in parallel with no balancing, giving 7.4v.This means there is room to add more and increase voltage for more power to the fan. Of course this comes at higher noise levels, which at stock voltage is fairly quiet.A 2S charge board modification would help maintain the battery/cells life, especially as Lithium fires are so dangerous.Battery pack has the following printed on it: HPSD IMR18650 3000MAh 7.4 22.2WhI'm going to add a thermal sensor board to this, hoping it doesn't drain too fast being switched on without the fan running. The thermal board will turn on a relay on the fan wire when the set temperature is reached, rather than activating the touch switch.Overall, decent product, cheap, a lot of room for improvement.I'm using it to vent a shipping container that reaches up to 35°C inside with clear skies in warm june Sunlight.Hoping it will keep the temp down, but insulating the roof will be a more permanent solution.

Airflow is extremely weak. I don’t know what I was expecting but it is nowhere near enough to provide much ventilation for an 8 metres cubed (small box) room. It periodically turns on and off for no reason.

I'm a bit disappointed with this product. The fan doesn't work at all on cloudy days. While the power storage setup is somewhat impressive, the fan itself isn't very powerful. The battery life claims that it will function even during overcast weather, but that's not true either I would have returned it but for the fact that I had to cut a hole in the glazing of me greenhouse to fit it thumbs down 👎🏽

Did try to use in a bathroom with no power but limited sun. Have now fitted in my greenhouse and working okay so far. Quiet and easy to fit.
