Works well.
I'm getting my PPL in the not too distant future and this is a great tool to have in the bag. Sure modern GPS and Foreflight on an iPad is great, but you need to know how to use the old pen and paper method. These tools are made of plastic, but its high quality and made well. It should hold up well unless you bend it in half on purpose. Happy with the E6B and plotter.

Nice kit for new pilots
I'm going for my PPL and this plotter and E6B computer are essential to working with sectionals and planning VFR trips. There's a manual included that explains in details how to use and the many functions of the E6B, I found it very helpful.

NOT METAL
E6B IS NOT METAL DESPITE BEING DESCRIBED AS SUCH -- seems to be a foam-core type plastic?super nice package, durable plastic plotter, and not-cardboard/paper e6b. comes with a manual for how to use both.

Killer construction! Personal preference on grey color.
I've had a lot of various E6B computers over the last 20 years of flying. ASA, Cessna, Gleim, you name it. This one is by far the heaviest duty plastic one that I've handled. The wind correction board and computer both are so solid that I know this won't get mangled in my flight bag. I also like the rotating degree piece on the plotter, solid construction throughout. One callout is the wind correction board. On one side you have slower speeds, 30-260 kts. The other side has 150 to 650 kts. This is sort of neat although I'm not flying anything that needs that higher scale. On other E6Bs the backside of the wind correction board usually has training data or other information like crosswind component calculators. Not sure yet what I think about the GREY flight computer. In good lighting indoors or outdoors, no problem. But try to look at it in a dim plane, with just a redlight or two, and it's much more difficult to read. I would not want to reach for this in my flight bag at night. The quality of this is top notch. It comes in a nice box (good for gifting!) and each piece is in a very heavy duty vinyl protective envelope. The accompanying book is thorough, has good pictures, and was written by a team that knows how to write in English. I really like everything about this. The grey even looks really sharp, it just isn't as easy to read at night.

Low contrast, hard to read
This is a decent flight computer for the price. It has a good instruction book and functions as intended. However, the uniform grey with black marking makes it difficult to read. I realize that there are better computers out there, some even with different colors for different scales or calculations (e.g., time vs gallons). But at least, this one could have had a lighter background to make the labels and marking easier to see. I find myself second guessing a lot of my calculation.
