Good world building
I am a turtle fan since 1987 and the recent popularity of my era of turtles has led to a new respect for the property. I saw the newest turtle film and was impressed by it. Rather than being a dark narrative and nonsensical reboot it tried a middle ground. Using the original concept from the animated series from my childhood and integrate it with a new concept of mutants in society trying to fit in. The turtles even retain their unique characteristics rather than all acting like a variant of Michelangelo. The animated series follows the aftermath of the movie and this game is used to make a season of the series that focuses on the characters and world. It does a good job of capturing the characters and world with a good brawler and decent story. I am 44 years old and have a few generational gaps that hinder my experience but if I was 12 I would enjoy it more. It uses unity engine so it freezes from time to time on steam so I bought the switch version. Unity engine is built for arm and it played better. The graphics take a hit and it has slow down with multiplayer but it never crashes and other than long load times it never crashes once. I played through it twice for the story and had fun with it. It’s short but it’s fun and one of those games you will probably play once in a while over time. The gameplay starts out very basic but as you unlock upgrades it gets better and when it gets repetitive you reach the end of the game so it is not boring and each turtle has a unique feel so unlike other turtle games it has a bit of depth. I enjoyed it for what it is and it’s great for anyone under 13 and into the new turtles it is based on. But if you’re not a fan of it the gameplay is good but having to go through the story may turn off some people. But if you just want a brawler with a good story and not a fan of the turtles it can be fun for a play through. If you’re a fan of turtles and tolerate teenage angst and a fan from 87 to current it is worth a try. If you have kids and want a multiplayer game with depth same thing try it. But be aware the levels are short and small so that will make it a shorter experience. A good game that is respectful but nothing beats the collection and Shredders revenge but this one may not measure up to them but it will give you a good time. The switch version is the most stable of all the versions and that is why I reviewed it. It has a story mode that I hope to see in future turtle games. Ronin an adaptation of a dark turtle graphic novel is the next big project and if it has a narrative mode like this I will be happy. The full price is a bit much but when it is on sale again try it I payed $27 and it was worth it so keep an eye on this and when on sale go for it. Better than platinum games turtle game this and Shattered Fate has been two great games for the turtles hope you enjoy it.

TMNT Mutants Unleashed - Nintendo Switch
Fun TMNT Vibes but Falls Short in Depth and PerformanceTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed for Nintendo Switch is a decent game that delivers on the charm and humor fans expect from the franchise. The art style is colorful, the characters are fun, and it captures the energy of the Turtles really well. Kids and younger fans will probably enjoy the simple controls and lighthearted tone. That said, the gameplay gets repetitive pretty quickly. Combat is basic, with limited variety in moves and enemies, and the missions start to feel the same after a while. The game could’ve really benefited from deeper mechanics or more unique level design. Also, only supporting two-player co-op feels like a missed chance for full team action with all four Turtles.Performance-wise, the load times are surprisingly long, and the game occasionally stutters during busier moments. It’s playable, but it definitely doesn’t feel as smooth as it should on the Switch.Overall, it’s not a bad game, just not a great one either. A fun distraction if you’re a big TMNT fan, but don’t expect anything groundbreaking.
