These were perfect for repairing my Columbia pants that had a plastic snap that fell apart after 2 washings. This snap is just perfect.

This button snap set worked well for my leatherworking needs. Clear instructions, decent tools included and the snap quality feels good. They fit well on 2X 3oz leather pieces (total ~2.4mm).I'm knocking off a star because the gold snaps were missing 1 part (B1) from the box so the gold snaps are all unusable, so I had to pick a different color for my project.

Bought this kit to install a snap on my wife's purse. The shoulder strap end was so long that it would drag on the ground if she held the purse by the carry handles. So placing one snap at the end of the strap did the trick. Holds the straps against each other.GOOD:The instructions are very simple to follow and stay in the nice container that all of the snap pieces are in, along with the tools. Six different colors and the bronze was a good match to the hardware on her purse. Anvil and install tools easy to use and are also stored in the container.NOT SO GOOD:The punch tool was not useful. Not sharp enough to cut through leather. But not enough to remove a star in the rating. I just used a leather punch that I had on hand. I used a piece of vinyl on top of the anvil when punching so as not to dull the punch.

I had a pair of pants that wouldn't stay snapped. I took a chance and ordered this kit because of the good reviews. I was very pleased to discover they were the exact same size as the ones on my pants. I drilled the front button and it came right off. I inserted the new button and receiver and then followed the instructions with the punch and anvil to complete the installation. It worked flawlessly and I can wear these pants again without fear of the button coming undone. I couldn't be happier and the fix took less that 5 minutes from start to completion.

It might be good for some light use but it is not what you want for rugged use. Way too thin and the tools that come with it are not well made. The finish looks nice but the snap might not work properly. I would only buy this for light weight projects.
