THE Greatest thing the French have ever contributed to the world!!
I am NOT from FRANCE and am NOT a francophone. I think surreder monkeys was a fair journalistic description of the French by the late great Hunter S. Thompson. Given that: This stuff tastes really great even though it is dehydrated bagged god knows how old seasoning. Add it a little early in the cooking process to avoid unwanted crunchiness and- Oui!

Lovely stuff - and, Lo & Behold, it's the Original
From what I can tell, Ducros is kinda like the McCormick of France.... Wait... The company is indeed now part of McCormick!According to their website, the eponymous Mr. Ducros invented Herbes de Provence in the 1960s.I have used other premium Herbes de Provence, so when I got this package, it didn't seem, smell, or feel quite the same. But I very quickly came to love this blend. Works very well in just about everything - roasts, grilled chicken, eggs, salad, grilled tomato British-style, you name it. Very pleased with this product. This came in a plastic pouch, but I keep empty spice jars around. So I filled some jars with it and dispensed with the pouch. Will definitely buy this again as I run out.And as usual, your mileage may vary. I do, however, hope you'll like it. Most reviewers on here seem to.Edit: A toaster-oven-style air fryer is now my go-to appliance for cooking fish. Herbes de Provence is also wonderful on fish. Just sayin'

Ducros Herbes De Provence...from France
I used this, and my son did also. We both loved the flavor it gave our prime ribeye roast! The product was dry, like it is suppose to be...but not flavorless(as being too old) as another reviewer mentioned. I do use other Herb de Provence brands to determine the flavor I like the most. Some American brands add lavender which imparts a flavor/smell that my wife doesn't like cuz it's too strong. I wanted to try an original 'French' blend. No problem with shipping, seller sent and received on-time. Price was very good too, compared to some other brands(especially compared to some American brands). These direct from France can be anywhere from $1.00-$2.00/oz., whereas the American brands can be $4.00-$10.00/oz!

Flavour too intense!
I have been a fan of Ducros Herbes de Provence since the first time I tried it a long time ago due to the fact that it doesn't contain lavender in the blend like other brands. Unfortunately, I found the flavor of the one I bought recently to be overpowering. While I appreciate a strong flavor profile, this blend was too intense for my liking and ended up overwhelming simple dishes that couldn't handle the strong flavour. I have resorted to using this blend sparingly and in dishes that can handle a bold flavor. Overall, while the quality is still high, the intensity of the blend was too much for my liking. I wish they stick to past blend profile which isn't too intense.

Great Herbes de Provence
We love this herb blend for fish and chicken. In fact, we use it as a go to spice blend. It is an original blend from France which does NOT include lavender which is exactly what we wanted. It is a culinary fact that lavender dominates the flavors of other spices, which ruins the flavors of Herbes de Provence. We highly recommend this herb blend.

The real thing, nothing less nothing more. Lavender is never supposed to be in Herbes de Provence.
Herbes de Provence is a staple in French cuisine. As a French woman living in the US, this is one of the simple things I miss dearly. Ducros is your regular, supermarket brand of spices and herbs - the kind you find in every supermarket all over the country. It's basic, simple, reliable, and good quality.Actual mix and %ages in Herbes de Provences will vary - depending on the brand, or the origin. But you always find the same herbs in there, just in different proportions. And NO, lavender is NEVER included. EVER. If you find Herbes de Provence with Lavender, then it's a tourist trap. Lavender is very seldom used in French cuisine, and when it is, it's mostly "modern cuisine", and desserts. So buy this without hesitation, open it, SMELL IT, and when you're done swooning, grill (or better yet, bbq) some good meat and sprinkle some herbes on it. Not too much, as it's fairly potent. It tastes and smells just like home.
