I was a little nervous about installing a garbage disposal myself, but this Insinkerator made the whole process surprisingly simple. The instructions were clear, and everything fit exactly as described. I was able to remove my old unit and have this one up and running in less than an hour with just basic tools. Once installed, it worked flawlessly—quiet, powerful, and it grinds food waste smoothly without any issues. The compact design also freed up a bit of space under my sink, which I really appreciate. Overall, I’m impressed with both the quality of the product and the ease of installation. If you’re on the fence about doing it yourself, I’d say go for it—this Insinkerator makes it very doable. I purchased this product because my old,(10 years or older) disposal shorted out. It was a "like for like" purchase. Which means, it was the same brand but I opted for higher horsepower. To my delight, the in sink existing hardware matched the new model. It took less than half an hour to install without the high cost of a plumber. It works great and will probably last 10 or more years! Great product, great purchase that contributes positively to environmental health by diverting food waste from landfills, reducing methane emissions (a potent greenhouse gas), and supporting energy recovery at wastewater treatment facilities. Highly recommended!

Great price for the 1/2 hp model. This is my second one as the first one purchased in 2018 was damaged by metal debris. The old one was easily removed in less than five minutes including time to gather tools! Quick and easy to install. Quiet and no leaks. Perfect size, smells good and not that heavy.

This review would be a 5 star based only on the actual disposal performance as this brand is excellent, thats why I ordered it. The downside for me was I ordered with the power cord and got the disposal without a power cord so I had to wire the power cord from the old disposal to this one and I am no electrician or really even much of a handyman to begin with so I wasn’t excited about doing that. (They did refund a couple dollars for the difference between this disposal and the one without the power cord). I see where people say it doesn’t make noise but I cant share in that experience because it does make some noise, it’s not obnoxiously loud at all but you’re going to hear it turn on. Installation wasn’t that difficult and honestly if I didn’t have to wore the power cord it would have been much easier and faster. This is a DIY project almost anyone can do as long as you can get yourself under the sink. I will update this in a year or so if the performance becomes any sort of issue but as of now it works great.

Arrived in perfect condition, exactly as advertised. The mount is pretty common as this is a major brand, so if you're replacing a similar machine (even if it came from another company) you might not even have to replace the outlet in your sink (I didn't!). The cord is long enough to reach the outlet under most sinks (my previous disposal had much too long of a cord which got in the way). If you buy this from one of the "big box" stores, they charge (a lot) extra for the power cord, so having it come, already installed, was a real time-saver and money saver! I needed to re-do the plumbing under my sink (for unrelated reasons), so I also bought the installation/plumbing kit, but if you are happy with the existing pipes, you might just be able to swap this unit in. ***** ONE THING TO KEEP IN MIND ***** If you are going to use this with a dishwasher, there is a step in the installation where you use a screw-driver and a hammer to punch-out a piece of plastic so your dishwasher can empty into the disposal. It's VERY EASY to do, but if you don't... the first time you run your dishwasher, you're in for a nasty surprise! If you don't have a dishwasher, it's ready right out of the box. I almost installed it without punching the piece out. Thankfully, I did at least look over the instructions before installing it! (lol) After I got it installed, I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet it is, much quieter than the old one it replaced. I also liked that it is very stable, no vibrations at all. If they shake around, it will eventually loosen the pipes and you'll get leaks, but this model is smooth and didn't need a stand or bracing. For me, the cost of this disposal was less than the cost of having the home warranty company send someone out to repair the old machine. If you feel "handy" enough to swap one out, it's an easy project!

I replaced an old InsinkErator 5-81 model. I googled the current replacement and the Badger 5 fit right in. The same model would have been $30 more at Home Depot. (Included was the power cord and install kit) Aside from some twisting and reaching, this old man got it done !! I t had good directions and I Chose not to replace the sink drain stainless flange as I was a little concerned of cracking the ceramic sink. It locked right in to the old cuff.

this seems to be american with american plugs and so on. i have had 2 electricians to look at it and they won't fit it becauase it works on 110 volts not 240 here in england. If it is fitted the current here will make it blow. so unfortunately i am sending it back.

Si libera gratamente de los desperdicios orgánicos no deseados porque algunos son de buen uso pero hay otros que realmente no. Funciona muy bien y es muy práctico siguiendo las instrucciones de operación en el orden correcto. El ruido no es incómodo y tiene muy buena potencia para triturar. Yo solicité la instalación a un plomero y realmente me dejó satisfecho. Lo instaló en 2 1/2 hrs con todo y botón de aire y contacto bajo la tarja.
