Skylanders Trap Team Starter Pack - Xbox 360

My husband got me this game to surprise me. Yeah, I know it's a kiddie game, but I hate online gaming and really enjoy cutesy, fun games such as this one! That being said, with this game, I'm rather less than thrilled! The game itself is gorgeous!! But MOST of the content is unavailable without spending WELL over $100 more dollars to get the characters to unlock basic content! Talk about a dirty trick, then on top of that, you need to also buy traps, 6 more of them! I quite peeved about this, and may just send the game back! I'm just disgusted!

Almost everything works fine except the actual game disc, which is covered in a weird hard substance that I think used to be slime and that’s keeping me from playing the actual game. I’ve tried every known method to try and get it up and it won’t come up.

This will be a Christmas gift for my son, I am sure he will love it. Will update after Christmas. OK so it has been a very long while I am here with an update. This particular item we are so happy we made this purchase it has brought the entire family together again not like playing on their phones and tablets but everyone here gets a chance we are like all kids of all ages,we definitely will be purchasing the other characters for this device in fact we have since purchased quite a few and will be leaving reviews for them as well.This is a great game to entertain all kids and adults.

was a good price but the portal did not work and I already threw away the box so I had to order a replacement portal so make sure you check to make sure that it works before you throw the packaging away

This is a brilliant idea for a game. My five year-old son loves the concept, and, since he is not quite facile enough to control the characters, he loves the fact that he has the power to exchange players and crystals on the platform. What comes with the starter pack is more than adequate, and the game itself is reasonable (if not incredibly easy) for an adult. Why only three stars, then? Because the game is buggy as heck. We hit at least one crash per hour of play, and there are areas of the game that we just cannot get to (including every fighting arena). Whole sections of dialog disappear (making me have to read passing words to my kids), and there are times when we are >90% through a level but have to reboot. Activision should be embarrassed. I can't imagine why this game hasn't had several updates by now. In any case, I am a very frustrated parent. I would love to embrace this game, but I try to avoid it at all costs.

Good price and a good game. A warning though: If you buy this for your kid you will absolutely end up needing to buy more traps.

Got this for my kids for Christmas. They loved the first Skylanders Swap Force and had been talking about this all month before Santa came.... We have since purchased about 10 more "traps" and several more skylanders. They said they can even use their swap force skylanders on this portal and play with them as well. Definitely make sure you have enough traps. Apparently each time you defeat a villain, you can trap him in one of the traps and then use him as a character. Once you trap a villain in a trap, he will talk to you and taunt you through a speaker that's built into the portal. My only other suggestion, instead of purchasing this starter pack, is to get the starter pack that comes with the "Chaos Trap". This trap is in HIGH DEMAND!!! if you don't believe me, try going to ebay and looking up the Chaos Trap. You'll find them selling this small plastic trap for around $50 or more, even when all other traps are $5.99. If you can find the starter kit that comes with the Chaos Trap, BUY IT!!!! You'll thank me later. HA HA

Our 9 year old is a HUGE Skylanders fan and has wanted this Skylanders Trap Team game for a while now. After saving up her money, she was able to buy this (which, by the way, is MUCH cheaper here than at GameStop!) The Starter Pack includes: Skylanders Trap Team game disk (Xbox 360), Traptanium Portal, 2 Figures (Food Fight & Snap Shot), 2 Traps (Water & Life), a Character Collector Poster, 2 Sticker Sheets with Secret Codes, and 2 Trading Cards. There is also a part of the box that can be turned into a Trap holder. Everything worked great & right out of the box. She loves getting the posters and stickers.
