New Favourite Addition
Really glad I gave this a try. Insta made me do it but I'm glad I did.Makes a lovely cocktail with 2/3 whisky (or whiskey) 1/3 Amero a dash of orange bitters and a dash of angostura bitters. Stir with lots of ice and strain into a martini or coupe glass. Garnish with orange if your feeling fancy.

my review of Amaro Averna
I have a shot of this aperitive, it helps you to digest your food and generally makes me feel good, and has a nice flavour.

A bit sweet
If you like amaro and herbal spirits this is on the mild end. Compared to Fernet Branca, it is much sweeter and less bitter. I find it too sugary and lacking in bitters/herbs which means it isn’t as refreshing as it could be. It’s ok.

Brings back memories of holidays in Italy - much nicer than other digestive drinks
Although it’s a little sweet for me now (which compensate by adding more ice and lemon) - I still love it and one sip instantly transports me to evenings sitting outdoors in a bar or on a hotel balcony in Italy. It’s so much nicer than Ramazzotti or Jägermeister (not for me at all). Perfect after a meal with plenty of ice and a slice of lemon, but I also like it as an afternoon drink sitting in the garden.

Wonderful special product
Great aperitif just the right side of bitter. Lovely on hot summer afternoons or evenings while sitting out waiting for the dinner to cook. Great served over ice with a slice of orange and topped with sprite or soda water depending on how sweet you like it. Family and friends love it too. I will probably buy this brand for the rest of my life.
