Bucky 40 Blinks No Pressure Eye Mask for Travel & Sleep

This sleep mask is the best I have encountered, and I had tried 7 different brands before I found the Bucky 40 Blinks. It has the bubbled out eyes, which are a must for me. It keeps my eyelashes from touching the mask, which is very important, especially during REM sleep when your eyes dance about in your head and your eyelashes rub against other flat lying sleep masks. For my face, it blocks out all light. Only 1 other mask gave me this kind of coverage. I realize everyones face is different. I have chubby cheeks and a wide nose, and it seals up all the gaps.I did experience the problem with the back piece of fabric separating from the padding after about 6 months of use. Fearing it was out of warranty, I contacted bucky customer support through their website. A really helpful customer service rep named Cynthia got right back to me via email, told me that they had improved the adhesive used to attach the fabrics, and would send me a new mask free of charge. She also asked if I used any lotions or makeup with the mask so they could do more research on their end and make further improvements down the road. The new replacement mask is now on it's way via fedex. You just don't see this kind of customer service these days, and I wanted to acknowledge that here in a public forum.I will report back after a few weeks with the new mask, but overall I am very pleased with both the product and the company's customer service. This is now the only sleep mask for me.UPDATE 6/15/13 They have updated the mask and it no longer has the peeling / separation problem. To ensure that you are getting the new version of the mask, check that the tag affixed to the mask does NOT contain a 4 digit number. The tag should only have the Bucky logo. If it has the numbers, it is an older version of the mask.

I truly thank God that I found this sleep mask! I hadn't realized how much lagophthalmos affected my ability to sleep until I tried this mask. Unlike other reviewers, I had no problems with any light coming in as long as I adjusted the mask on my face properly.Those with very narrow or small noses may find that this mask just doesn't fit well since they may have a gap in the nose area. One size never fits all the same way...so this should be expected. Everyone does not have the same facial characteristics.What I love about the mask is that since there is space for the eyes to be open or blink, I don't have to worry about any material lying directly on my eyes and possibly damaging my eye since my eyelids don't close when I sleep (or at any other time really do to proptosis causing lagophthalmos). Those with lagophthalmos deal with excessively dry eyes daily and are prone to eye infections and cuts or other damage. With this mask, I wake up and my eyes aren't as dry and they aren't as scratchy. Even better, they're shielded from anything rubbing against them and causing irritation while I sleep.The mask has a relatively strong scent when the package is first opened. Keep in mind that the mask rests on the nose so the smell is more pronounced. If you are easily irritated by strong smells, I suggest that you allow the mask to air out before using.When I wear this mask I experience complete darkness in the room even though I don't have my curtains hanging in my room yet. I used to sleep terribly since my eyes always received light and would be instantly awakened by the rising of the sun unless I hid under the covers due to increased light having direct access to my eyes.I will definitely buy this item again!

I bought these Buckys to wear while resting seated to protect my eyelashes. However, if you want zero light, they must be positioned just right. PROS: They will block all light if positioned properly. There is no pressure on eyes or eyelashes. CONS: Not practical for sleeping in bed with tossing and turning. If you have skin sensitivity the edges of the cut molded urethane is maddening; there’s no padded edge cushioning. Probably would NOT buy them again unless for air travel. Buckys should do better with this mask!
