Fun Hobby Kit, Just Not for Kids.
Lovely little unique kit with all the parts needed to build it (excluding solder). Be prepared to work for it though! The instruction images are very small and are a little faded, and the text is written in broken/badly translated English. The QR code for the pdf instructions doesn't actually link to the instructions for the kit itself, but to other kits they advertise. Bit annoying. I can't even find this model's instructions on Google either.Schematic is, again, quite small and faded, but you can just about make out the essentials. The component map is a lot clearer though!Great for a tinker project or furthering skills with intermediate electrical systems, but I wouldn't recommend for children as a starter project. Complex enough to be interesting for someone getting into the hobby or testing their own skills though!

Excellent DIY soldering practice. Great practice to train a dwindling skill
Great pack of soldering components. Comes with everything needed (minus the iron and solder) to assemble.I always find the instructions quite useless with these sorts of products but with a little knowledge of electronics, its easy to assemble without.I would say this isnt beginner level - but its possible for a beginner to assemble with help from experience.Would be great for work experience students or parents wanting to teach their kids a skill that isnt as popular anymore.Worth the price at £13.99.The radio functions as expected but this kit is for the practice rather than the quality of the speaker.

Awful instructions
I ordered this to practice my own soldering and have a useful item at the finish. I involved my Grandson for a couple of reasons, I wanted to teach him soldering anyway but I also needed help reading and interpreting the instructions. Between the two of us, we did finish with a nice working radio, but it was so much more difficult than it needed to be.

Nice kit but terrible instructions
A really nice kit for the price and at the end (if it works) you have a functioning radio which looks quite cool in its transparent case.Lets be clear on this, its not what i would call a 'beginner kit', yes i managed to complete this with only a soldering iron (fine tip) and flux cored solder but i would not recommend doing some of the parts like this and should really be done with a heat gun/reflow station and liquid/gel flux, i would class myself as an enthusiastic amateur. That said i really enjoyed putting this together and when it came to life at the end and tuned into some radio stations it does make you feel that you accomplished something (and it should last for years too).Components were just bagged up and so no warnings of electrostatic discharge for the IC's and one of the button caps was missing so check the contents (i also thought one of the capacitors was missing but it was magnetised to the back of the speaker) but its ok without the button caps fitted. From start to finish it took me about 3 hrs purely referencing the components to the pcb as the instructions were basically useless. If its marketed as a teaching kit then a leaflet detailing what all the components actually 'do' should really be included or at least a link to some reference material. All in all its a good kit and you have a cool FM radio to show off at the end, its not the loudest, but ok in a quiet room and can be powered by usb or 2 AA batteries. Mine picked up all the local stations so seems to work well.Happy to recommend for improving your soldering but not for absolute beginners.

Fun radio soldering kit
The radio kit is great for the price and comes with everything needed to build an FM radio. As I have an experienced electronics engineer to help me, this project is much easier for me to complete with expert guidance, but it is complicated for a complete beginner. There are lots of pieces and it takes some deducing to figure out what is what.It is a really cool project that leaved you with something fun to play with when you have finished.

Does what it needs to
Not really a starter kit although the kit suggest as such.Essentially a pack of pieces you'd pick up from parts supplier cobbled together.Circuit board is smaller than manufacturers description shows.More a kit for an experienced solderer wanting to keep on top of technique.

The hardest part is reading the instructions
The FM Radio Kit Soldering Practice Kit, DIY Electronic Project Kit FM 87-108MHz with 2 Power Modes EK1989, Teaching Kit is a good kit and would be great for beginners if the instructions were better. The printed set inside the box are not the best quality with small images that are hard to see detail on and some parts are faded. To make it harder, the Chinese to English translation is not the best.I could not find the online resources they mention and the QR code took me to a website that did not list the radio. If you already have some experience and patients, you will be fine, but it is not the easiest to follow for people just starting out.Apart from that, everything you need is included and the end result is a cool little radio.Good kit but the instructions could be a lot better.
