Good Induction Hob
We have a very small kitchen separate from our kitchen / dining room (which has an oil fired Aga). Up until now we've been using a portable single plate induction hob to save firing up the Aga, but it was a bit limiting with only one pot at a time. The only space we had for a built-in hob is between the sink and the freezer, but our washing machine is below this limiting the thickness / depth of a hob. This Noxton one is the thinnest we could find at just 44mm from the base of the glass, and it fits perfectly with plenty clearance. It's really easy to fit, just cut the worktop with a jigsaw, fit on the clips and drop it in, then add a bit of silicone sealant round the edge. The hob works well, although it doesn't register our smallest pot on either zone. With the plug-in version you can't run both zones at full power, it adjusts the power to a maximum of 2,500W (both zones at full power would be 2,800W, 1,200W for the front and 1,600W for the rear). In practice you don't really notice this. The fan is quite noisy (although not as loud as our old portable one), and with both zones in use it occasionally makes a strange squealing noise! We tend to use the front zone when cooking with a single pot.Because it's completely flat it's ideal for a worktop, you can lay things on it when not in use. It cools down very quickly - much quicker than halogen or ceramic - and the lock function ensures it can't switch on accidentally. The timer is handy, it turns both zones off on completion. Overall I would recommend this as a plug-in two zone hob, if you need the extra power then you can get the hard wired version.

Induction hob
The media could not be loaded. The new induction hob has replaced our original portable hob, my husband fitted it with ease after cutting the appropriate size in the worktop, making sure the plug went securely through the cupboard side for connecting the hob to power supply, works a treat, looks the part very happy so far, I only wanted a 2 zone built-in hob as we have other electrical cooking items, so this is sufficient enough for our needs.

Won’t work with smaller pans
This hob will only work with larger induction pans. I have a frying pan that I have tested on two other induction hobs and it works fine but it won’t work on this item

Scratches far too easily
Reasonable quality, but the glass surface scratches far too easily.
