The specifications for size (W x H x D) are VASTLY different from what the manufacturer's website says. Is this really almost 10' wide (113")??

From the Product Manual and User Guide Instructions available online at the Manufacturer's' website at ChannelMaster.com -for Model # CM-4228 HD 8-Bay Antenna, the Reception Range of UHF and HD is listed as Up to 80 miles. (Your mileage may vary due to local conditions and antenna positioning and height .)Antenna Assembled Size (D x W x H) =5 in x 49 in x 33 in. (The shipping package size it comes in may be slightly different, and they also make smaller models)Turning Radius= 24.5 in. Assembly instructions are also found there online. Most stations now are on UHF, but if you find you still can't get Channels 7-13 in your local area, you can actually try adding a simple VHF Dipole Antenna (looks like those old Rabbit-Ears) , then mount it right on top of your CM-4228 Antenna, adjust it horizontally, then connect those two short coax cables inline to an combiner/splitter or pre-amp, and then just run your single combined coax right on down to your main distribution cables.

What do I need to mount this on my roof? Do I need to put it on a mast? Does it come with what I need to install it on my roof?

The antenna comes with clamps to mount it to a mast, an adapter to use antenna cable and that is all. You will need some kind of roof mount and a mast. Hope that helps.

Is this non directional tv antenna do you have to point it in the direction for a station with a rotor

The CM-4228HD is mostly directional, however I'm able to pickup a station ~135° off from the forward direction.

It picked up channels very well. Go to TVFOOL.COM to see what direction to point the antenna. It makes a world of difference. Channels 5 - 30 come in very good. It will have to be pointed it the right direction. The picture is better than Dish network.
