It has a "softness" to it. not spongy, but soft like there's a very thin layer of felt. It makes this case unique and interesting. The buttons for volume and power work perfectly. And it has a slim profile. It's a perfect SSS - Slim, Sturdy, and Shock absorbing. Great value at $10.
