Varomorus Durable OXALIC Acid 12V Vaporizer VARROA MITE Treatment

I had been reviewing other vaporizers, and I did not want to spend alot of money. I read orher positive reviews, and this product seemed like "the best bang for my buck".My husband had a respirator. The instructions were very clear and all about safety. I covered myself up, and layed everything out so I was prepared.My husband hooked the vaporizer up to our mower battery. I stuck the vaporizer in the opening of the beehive waiting the allotted 2-5 minutes (husband was timing) watching the vapor come out the bottom and it was done.This product worked as expected without a hiccup. Quick and simple. Can't beat that!

Works great. Read the directions and study up some the reputable educational sites about OAV. From reading about other units it might be a bit slower than some, took 3 minutes to start vaporizing and just over 4 minutes to finish. Be aware the metal part of the handle gets and stays very hot. It’ll hold a full tsp of the OA easily.I’ve only used it about 14 times I think, only have 2 hives plus new swarm moved in during the treatment sequence (not broodless here in South Florida), so can’t really speak to durability but it seems “medium duty”. Considering the price of other mite treatments it doesn’t have to last that long to be competitive.Of course OAV is slow, this is a review of the vaporizer not the treatment method. Maybe they should offer 3 or 4 packs of these for larger-scale beekeepers.

Purchased this item and first time I took it to the hive , it didn’t work. Would not heat up. It is past the 30 day window to return.I am updating this review. This company notified me that they sent out a new vaporizer and also spares parts. They made this purchase right. Highly recommend them. Great customer service.

I was able to use the fogger successfully on one hive and I could see the vapors coming out of cracks. I let it cool and went to do the second hive, and it never reached the full top temperature. One of the wires does look melted, so it might have shorted out. I may just replace the wires and give it another go.It's a simple tool. The wires heat a glow plug, which in turn heats the aluminum cup holding the oxalic acid. As long as the wires can carry the current to the glow plug, it will get hot. So there is clearly a problem with the wiring.Update: I re-ran the main wire going to the glow plug so it doesn't come in contact with the main bar. I also took out the melted part of the wire. I believe the wire was pinched the first time and shorted out. The rewire seems to have corrected the problem. I will update as I continue to use it.So four stars for solid machining of the aluminum pieces and solid design. One star deduction for wiring issue.Update 9/15/20: I have now used this vaporizer multiple times with great success. It is a simple design made of quality material. Just rewire it to keep the wires from getting too hot. My 12v 7amp battery was just not quite enough, but the 12v 9amp has done great! It consistently vaporized 1/2 tsp in 5 minutes start to finish.

Worked one time and then quit working. I fired this up to vaporize some OA so I could time how long it would take to treat. When I put in my hive, it no longer worked. Voltage was good, have a good ground, but it will not heat up.

In the past I rented a vaporizer like this from a local vendor to treat my honeybees with Oxalic Acid against mites. But after two rentals I spent enough money to buy my own so I searched and found this one from Varomorus Durable. It’s durable, well built and easy to use with any 12 volt battery. I’ve only used it once so I’m not able to comment on its durability but I’ve used a few other brands and I think this one is comparable and should last for a long time.

The product works fine. However, the glow plug keeps blowing out. First time was my fault, I laid it on dewy grass. Ordered two more glow plugs and the second just went out. I’ll treat my bees this afternoon and decide if I’ll order more glow plugs or buy a different set up.
