Great tasting and mild cup as advertised, but low crema/foam on brewing, no roast date
Context: I love coffee and especially craft coffee, and drink coffees like this black so I can get the tasting notes. I see a lot of other reviews are mentioning adding creamer, etc to this, which is not really the point of this category of coffee - you can get the same results with less expensive bags of coffee if you prefer a dark roast tamed by cream and sugar a la Starbucks (and no judgement to that, because that’s a huge part of my coffee routine too). Anyway, you’re in the right place if you’re looking for a craft coffee review.Starting off with the strengths: this makes a great tasting cup of coffee. It is juicy, well-balanced, and has a mild sweetness that makes it extremely drinkable. There are no off flavors, and the level of bitterness is appropriate for the cup. If this is your first time with craft coffee, I think it’s a good entry point. I’m not sure I get honey from it, but I get a bit of light citrus and some caramel notes with it. I’m not a professional taster, so there are probably notes I’m missing, but I would say the impression I get as a hobbyist is this is very juicy, has a lovely full texture, and definitely fits the description of mild without lacking in flavor or becoming tea-like.This is a city roast (medium) and the roast appears even, and before I even opened the bag, it smelled great. The packaging has a single way vent for letting the roast off gas, and without mincing words, it is just plain cute. I’m a designer and I’m a complete sucker for great packaging design. The bright colors are a treat and I’d be proud to display this on my counter. All that said, there are a few things that need addressing before this is a 5 star coffee, especially given that it’s in the craft category and as of writing, each bag is $18. First, and most importantly, I could not find a roast date (only an expiration date) on the coffee bag. Without a roast date, you have no way of knowing how fresh the roast actually is. The best case scenario is that you have a roast date around 14 days ago. The worst is that it is multiple months or a year old, and all the flavors are lost. Roast dates are common and expected on bags of craft coffee, and I’d argue they’re especially important when going through Amazon as opposed to going to a local roaster. This is a critical piece of information that I was definitely missing as I wrote this.Second - it would help a lot to have tasting notes on or with the bag. You might say “it’s in the name!”, but this actually caused some confusion to me, because when it’s in the name, it often refers to honey processed coffee, which is a different type of coffee than this (washed process). Relying on the name alone also means that you won’t know about other notes like caramel. Having tasting notes helps me evaluate and describe what I’m tasting more clearly.Lastly - I brewed this in my Aeropress with a metal filter for a full bodied cup. Typically when I brew a freshly roasted craft coffee, there will be 1-2 inches of foam at the top, indicating a very fresh roast. Although the flavor of this was great, I only saw a centimeter or two of foam at the most while brewing, which suggests to me this may have been sitting a while before it got to me. Since I don’t have a roast date, I can’t know for sure - but it’s very possible this is an exceptional coffee with lots of honey in the taste, and I can’t tell because the roast sat too long in a warehouse before it got to me. In either case, this was a bummer.I’d also like to know more about the fair wages and practices, or see a certification on the bag to help me more quickly evaluate that factor.Overall, I think this is still a lovely gift coffee, and it’s likely that this is a very good coffee and I got a bag that has been sitting for a bit. I think it’s appropriately priced if you get a fresh bag, and it may be worth researching this roaster a bit more if you are picky about your craft coffee. Those things aside, it’s a lovely cup that I’ll be enjoying for mornings to come, at least until I’m through this bag.

A light roast of coffee beans – Great for Espresso-Based Drinks
I was curious to try this Café Quindío Specialty Harvest coffee, especially given its origins and the promise of honey and caramel notes. While it’s advertised as a medium roast, to me it brewed more like a light roast—with a bright, clean flavor and higher caffeine kick than expected.I used these beans primarily for espresso and found that it really shined in a flat white, where the milk helped soften the acidity and highlight the more subtle sweetness. I didn’t get much of the deep caramel flavor you'd expect from a medium roast, but there was definitely a delicate honey-like smoothness in the aftertaste. The beans come freshly roasted, and you can tell by the aroma and quality—clean, consistent, and no oily residue. I also love that this is a women-owned business and that the coffee is ethically sourced from local growers in Quindío, Colombia. The packaging is compact and well-sealed, which is great for keeping it fresh. If you're looking for a bold medium roast, this might not be it—but if you appreciate a light roast, nuanced coffee with a gentle body and natural flavor, it's a lovely choice. I’d recommend it especially for pour-over or espresso drinks with milk.

Yummy coffee!
This coffee smells amazing! I could smell the honey notes and the beans right through the little vent right when it arrived. It is whole bean and grinds up nicely. It tastes fresh and there are subtle sweet honey notes. It doesn't taste bitter or acidic to me.The best by date is a full year away, in 2026, so there is at least a 1 year shelf life left!

A Pleasant Colombian Medium Roast
I recently tried the Cafe Quindio Specialty Harvest whole bean coffee, a medium roast 100% Colombian Arabica. This coffee offers a mild and well-balanced flavor, with subtle notes of honey and caramel that come through nicely. It's a smooth cup, not overly bold, making it quite drinkable. I appreciate that it's sourced from local Quindio growers and roasted at origin, which is a good sign for freshness. While the packaging is appealing, I did notice the absence of a clear roast date on the bag, which is something I typically look for in specialty coffee. Despite that, the flavor profile is enjoyable. If you're looking for a pleasant, medium-bodied Colombian coffee with natural honey and caramel notes, this is a good option for your morning routine.

Smooth but extremely mild
The first thing you notice is the strong aroma from the bag. These beans are fresh and smell slightly fruity, sweet, and rich. The beans themselves are light. Very light. They are a "mild" roast, but these are some of the most blonde beans I've seen. The taste follows the appearance. Very light, very delicate, but still a distinct flavor. Naturally a little sweet, a bit floral, and incredibly smooth. If you like a light, but deep flavor these beans are for you.I feel like I have to take off a star simply because I cannot justify the cost for what you get. I've had coffee I enjoyed much more, with richer, more complex flavors, for a much lower cost per pound. While these beans are great, the value just isn't there considering the high price.

Ok not great
This coffee is ok. Nothing special. I don't sense a hint of vanilla which is weird...I suppose that I enjoy a darker roast overall.
