Not Quite Dead Yet : Jackson, Holly: desertcart.ae Review: Tolles Buch - spannend bis zum Schluss mit vielen unerwarteten Wendungen. Ganz klare Leseempfehlung! Review: Finally, the five star read, I have been dying for! (Yes, I went there). Not only was the premise for this book. Absolutely fantastic but it delivered on all the emotional levels as well. Family drama. Suspense. And a delicious mystery that was tied together with a perfect little red bow at the end. Holly Jackson I am now a fan. Read this book. You won’t be disappointed.

Entered another Fable book club, because I could not wait to read the new book by Holly Jackson, it’s called “not quite dead yet” Can you blame me? After the successful “a good girl’s guide to murder” series it was a no brainer to pick this one up asap. So, at first, I was wondering, how can someone with that prognosis even function? Let alone do all the things Jet does in this story. But then I remembered that a dear friend of mine who did sports up until family noticed something was wrong. He had a tumor the size of a tennis ball, it was too late to do anything about it. He actually died within days. In this story Jet is our main character, a twenty something year old with no hurry in life. Her go-to catch phrase is ‘I’ll do it later!’ After visiting the Halloween event her family organizes yearly, she goes home, to her beloved house dog Reggie. Little did she know she’s dying that night. Being struck on the head trice. The only thing she remembers is the screaming. Can dogs actually scream like that? Waking up in the hospital 36 hours later her prognosis is dire. Due to a piece of bone lodged in her brain an aneurism will grow and eventually leak and or pop, which will kill her. She had about a week left. A week where she will do anything to solve her own murder. Her mother can’t get over the fact that being operated on might save her live. But the chances are only 10%, so Jet chooses to live her last days, but not at home because her mother can’t stop intervening and trying to persuade Jet to get the surgery. She moves in with Billy, he was her best friend until she was 14 and lived across the street. Now he lives above a pub, but being with him makes her feel save and seen. He actually helps her on her quest to uncover the truth. He’ll do anything for her even breaking and entering. This story has some secrets come to light, some really big ones. I’ve thought about the suspect a lot. I’ve switched a couple of times throughout the book, but wasn’t surprised in the end. I really loved this story though. This book was a ⭐⭐⭐⭐ star read!

Got for my 14 year old. One ofcher favorite authors. It made her cry but she couldn't put it down. The twists were unpredictable and she was on the edge of her seat the entire time. Highly recommend for the mystery fans.
