Q: I have a dual monitor set up and I only need to be able to switch one monitor to a linux box - will this work? Does it matter which is the primary?

I am afraid not; this device for one fixed output w/2 switchable inputs, I believe.

I guess that you are using a single usb receiver for both keyboard and mouse and no need for using usb ports separately. However, the switch allows for a keyboard and mouse separately connect to the switch with 2 usb ports for sharing them w/2 computers one at a time.

Q: if I have a wireless keyboard and mouse, how does that work? How do you connect the wireless to the HUB?

It has 2 USB ports on the front for Mouse and Keyboard. A wireless adapter can be plugged into those, while the hub's USB ports are plugged into the respective computers. They would operate just like being plugged into the computer with an extension cable.
