Wonderful Hardware, awful app
Currently a long term Garmin user who has dabbled in Samsung watches in the past. My interest here was driven by a few things... - Bright, clear display - Styling - Weight (its crazy light) - Advanced running metrics (which im used to getting and dont want to lose) - Battery life (a huge selling point) - Price (amazing, given the features) For info - Im using in conjunction with a Samsung Fold 7. The watch is well packed/presented and super light when you take it out. The green is especially nice, and the nylon band (which i have in my Garmin Epix also) is super comfortable. Downloading the app is easy via the Samsung app store (which gets around the fact its not on Google play), and setting up is extremely easy. I used it for a run and and kept my garmin on the other wist. HR, distance, pretty much everything was identical for the full 6km I ran which was impressive. I checked every half km. It's size is ideal and th functionality, info, data it offers is ideal for runners. Other widgets and access to apps is great on the watch, and the dial is excellent and convenient. The ecg readings are quick to do and appear to be accurate (but remember, its a watch.. not a medical device, as it reminds you frequently during the set up process). In the end I returned it, and frustratingly it was not the fault of the watch... The app. Deary me.... its rammed full of adverts for products, or points rewards, or for other features. The post run reports are good and all the data is there, but the app just overwhelms you when you interact with it and the notifications are OTT. Another personal niggle is that im used to having a 'body battery' metric and I find it accurate and useful. Hauwei doesn't have this, and I believe only Samsung does it. In the end I returned it. So, the watch is superb - amazing hardware. For Hauwei phone owners id recommend this massively, and for others who can get past the experience on the app. Unfortunately I couldn't, although im sure I could have in time, and decided to send it back.

Challenger to Samsung and apple.
Well made and smart looking watch. Much slimmer and lighter than my samsung galaxy. Set up can be a bit of a faff but no more difficult that other makes. Screen is small and, if like me you need glasses, can be a little difficult to read. My galaxy is much clearer. The various sensors for pulse, O2 and ecg seem accurate and are quite fast in giving readings. Time will tell but I'm happy with the watch and we'll see how things go. I might even be tempted to bin my other brands and go with huawei in the future. Edit. Worn this for 48 hours now so here's a few extra details. PROS Good fast screen swiping, very smooth. Health data such as pulse, O2 etc are easy to do and with fast results. Plenty of faces, many of them customisable. Comfortable to wear for long periods. CONS Reading the screen can be a problem if you wear glasses. Can't read all of a text message or email so you still have to use your phone. Huawei say the will correct this in future updates. Doesn't seem to be a way to reply to text and email. Sound isn't brilliant and very tinny. For the price it's a good buy and, unless you need LTE on your watch, a lot cheaper than the watch 5 pro. I also prefer the sqarish shape to the round shape. Edit. Still can't see all of my messages, just the first line. Can't reply only delete. Huawei customer service is really poor and makes you do all sorts of checks but won't admit that the watch itself could be faulty. Asks you to update software and then asks you again! Requests pics of the watch software version then asks if your sure you have the latest version. Now offered me a 10% discount on their website as compensation . They have worn me down to the point that I have given up and will put up with the issues. I won't be buying Huawei again.

Simple light weight and good quality smart watch
Very light, good looking smart watch. Displays most of the relevant health related and other features for day to day usage. Compared to other device with similar features, pretty good for value and pretty good quality. has good functionality, easy to set up and connect with IOS and android based mobile phones.

Dont worry about Huawei
I bought this watch a few weeks ago and its fantastic.. it does everything i need and more.. from measuring my exercise and health metrics to ECG, SPo2 (blood oxygen) and even has a relaxation breathing mode.. plus comparing it to my HR chest strap, the 4 pro reads really accurate HR and steps ... and unlike Pixel watch 3 and Fitbit.. The Fit 4 Pro actually Syncs instantly on BT connection, without the incessant errors .. Yay.. After using about 6 different trackers and smart watches over this last year, Huawei Health app is great and packed full of detailed health and fitness info, and the app is not the " data tracking hoarder" google and the conspiracy lot make it out to be .. believe me, Samsung Health, Garmin Connect & Fitbit are far far worse for data monitoring.. Just download health app from Huawei UK, install it manually, create or login to your Huawei acc, set it up with your watch and off you go.. After initial setup, i went back and turned OFF "contacts", "call logs" and "location" in Permissions on my pixel phone .. and that was it.. but when i was using Samsung Health or Garmin Connect apps and watches .. they hassled me constantly to "allow calendar, allow contacts or allow call logs permissions" access. The Huawei Health app doesn't ask you again once you go back and turn these Permissions off in phone settings... The Fit 4 Pro is easily THE best health and fitness watch and tracker ive ever owned .. period.. so dont worry about the app, being non google, its a great watch and well worth it..

Rugged and good looking
Good basic watch. It’s a shame that it doesn’t work as smoothly with iPhones as it does with android. But other than that it does what it does really well. Step counter, heart rate monitor, ecg, sleep tracking, breathing, stress monitor, Bluetooth phone connection tor receive calls and messages, set alarm, timers etc. crisp display quality, fits very comfortable with interchangeable straps with a click. Price should be lower than £200 though for sure. And most importantly…2 weeks of battery life! Overall, it’s a good product.

All round top performer
Excellent value for money. Plenty of exercise/health features. Great bright display. Brilliant for serious distance swimmers. Very good battery life. UPDATE after 2 months. Still very happy apart from one issue that other should be aware of. I purchased a new download watch face which looks really great, HOWEVER through out the day it will advance one hour or show one hour behind. When you select the old face the time changes to the correct hour. Huawei suggested various fixes none of which worked, They then suggested contacting the party that provide the other faces via the app but they are yet to get back to me and I am not confident they can remedy this as I have seen online that others experience issues when changing the face via downloaded purchases

Flaky firmware lets it down
decent watch, enjoyed wearing it. Unfortunately having to send it back after 10 days with a firmware problem that won't allow haptics to be toggled on and off. sleep reporting is flaky to say the least but most "fitness" watches don't pass muster in this regard. Am sending it back today and was about to order another BUT Amazon price has jumped from £109 to £149 which does not make it a good buy!!

Doesn't work for open water swimming
Virtually everything about this watch was great, especially for the price, but with one major exception - it didn't work at all for open water swimming (the GPS tracking was totally useless, and produced equally useless results). It took me many months of emails back and forth with their customer service (and on occasions they took weeks to reply to me), trying all sorts of different steps (that they suggested), sending the device for repair (at their suggestion), until they finally admitted that there's a software problem with the device and it doesn't work for open water swimming. I presume they actually knew this all along, but didn't want to admit it, so it's pretty frustrating that I had to spend months wrangling back and forth with them until they admitted the problem. Apparently it may be fixed in the future, not sure when, but in the end I sent the watch back for a refund, which Amazon processed quickly and without a problem at all. If you don't intend to use it for open water swimming, I'd still recommend it, as it seemed to do everything else really well, and it was good value.
