Power Steering Pump Compatible with 2005-2008 Honda Pilot 3.5L, 2005-2010 Honda Odyssey 3.5L, 2007-2013 Acura MDX 3.7L - Replace 21-5442, 56110-RGL-A03, 56110-PVJ-A01 - Power Assist Pump Assembly

I own a 2009 Honda Odyssey EX-L with 210,000 miles on it. In the past year I got the guts to take on some DIY auto repair since the car is older and close to it's end of life. First it was the auto-doors, then the brakes and rotors and now the power steering. The power steering has been making noise for a few years, but only in the Winter. I started checking out YouTube and found a video about replacing only the O-Rings where the high pressure hose meets the pump. I did this and it fixed the noise for a while. The noise came back, but this time it was because of low power steering fluid. I figured out I had a leak in the high pressure hose because of the stains in my driveway and I visibly saw the hose leaking very slowly. I was going to take on replacing the hose. The part was under $100 on Amazon, but it required some tools I didn't have to access the hose clamps. I procrastinated a while and just kept filling the power steering fluid about once a month. The steering got tighter and tighter and I really had no time to attempt this hose repair. I took it to a mechanic and he replaced the hose for about $300 ($189 for the hose, $6 fluid, $90 labor and tax). The leak was fixed, but the steering was still super tight. The mechanic said I needed a pump, which I kinda already knew. He told me it would be $600, probably because the Honda Genuine part is over $400. He did "advise" me that the pump repair is easier than the hose. He knew I already did some work on the car, so he figured I would attempt it. So I bought this one on Amazon for $70, watched a YouTube video as a reference and replaced the the pump in about 45 minutes. It only took that long because I never had experience with moving a belt tensioner. Very easy install with some confidence. I used a turkey baster to remove the power steering fluid from the reservoir. I had to remove two 10mm bolts to remove the high pressure hose. I had to squeeze a hose clamp to remove the other hose. I had to release the tension on the belt using a ratchet and a breaker bar to move the tensioner. I then slid off the belt and removed the pulley from the pump with a 3/4 wrench. And then I removed two 12mm bolts from the existing pump. After that I pulled off the caps on the new pump and reverse-processed the bolts and hoses to install it. It was a perfect fit. I put the fluid back in, started the car and it fixed the problem instantly. The steering is ridiculously smooth now, probably because I got so used to the tight steering. So far, so good. I will update this review if any issues arise.

My 2009 Honda Odyssey with 190k needed a new PS pump. At idle, there was little or no assist... so parallel parking was an issue. Stepping on the gas just a little overcame the problem, but that's not helpful when you're trying to gently park the car. One thing I really like about this one is that it's NEW, not rebuilt. So - no core return. I had read reviews of other products that are rebuilt, and they still had the no-assist-at-idle problem. Most rebuilts will replace the bearings and the seals, but not the impeller / gears. So if the impellers and/or case is worn, there is too much clearance and the pump simply doesn't work correctly. This one is all new, so hopefully that won't be an issue. This was a pretty quick install. Fit perfectly. Nice and quiet, and the power assist works at idle just like it's supposed to! If I develop any concerns with this pump I will post a follow up to this message, but so far I could not be more pleased with this product. Quick update. Over two years later and this steering pump is still going strong!

Put on a 2005 honda odyssey and so far so good.price was good and this car is a daily driver so lots of miles have ben put on it and still running good.no more whining noises

My old pump was starting to make a grinding sound and was on it's last leg. My car is pretty old and I don't know how much longer I'll have it so I didn't want to spend top-dollar on an official Honda pump so that's where this model came in. Installation was straight forward and everything seemed okay - the pump was quiet and steering was normal. But soon after I noticed some drips in the garage. I thought it was oil, but a few weeks pass until one morning the power steering is completely gone. Some investigation quickly reveals it the PS fluid leaking and not the oil. It was leaking from the pump itself - around one of the bolts holding the back plate on. The hoses were all fine. This pump lasted less than 1,000 miles. Unfortunately I was 1 day past my return window so now I'm stuck with a boat anchor and a lesson about no-name parts. I've since replaced it with a nicer one from RockAuto and all is well so far.

Installed on my 08 MDX 19 months and 20k miles ago, fits perfectly and works mostly like it should. At low RPM, you can't just turn the wheel when not moving, so it has somewhat insufficient pressure especially when below freezing out. Overall, it works well and is good for the price. No real complaints in my 19 months of ownership

11/27/2023: Installed fine, seemed to be of acceptable quality, but failed after less than 4 months of light usage. I even used the OEM Honda fluid. Maybe I just got a bad one, but I can't recommend. UPDATE LATER THAT SAME EVENING: After watching a bunch of Youtube, it became clear that the issue may not be the pump, but rather a clogged screen in the fluid reservoir. I replaced the reservoir, and topped off the fluid - problem solved. In other words, THE PUMP DID NOT FAIL. I DID.

I purchased for an 08 Honda Odyssey. I cannot attest to its durability as I am writing this 24 hours after installation, however I can attest that it was a perfect fit and replacement without any issues. Brand new and less than half the price of auto parts store that I've been going for thirty years. If anything I will update the review. I would definitely recommend.

Installed it without a problem. Fit perfect and works perfect. Longevity is the only question as the original one lasted for 330,000km I can only hope this one lasts for 100,000km more.

Perfect fit for my 2008 Honda Odyssey so far so good. It’s been one month since I installed. Time will tell how long this will last.
