Honestly, this rack was a little confusing to me when I first opened up the box. I've had a few coat racks in the past there were nice solid and heavy wood. But the wood this rack is insanely light weight, it might as well be cardboard. That's not to say that it isn't strong enough for what it is..Once I put the rack together, I found it sufficiently strong for its purpose. It can hold many jackets, hoodies, and heavy winter coats with ease. I won't loose any sleep about this crumbling under the weight of a few Carhartts..The upper shelf is a nice place to put hats and gloves, but it's a little more shallow that I would like. Hats tend to stick out over the edge a bit but I've never had them fall off. I think a small ledge all the way around the upper shelf would have been a nice touch to allow it to hold more, but then again, I could see a problem if someone chose to put very heavy objects up top, especially of those objects were placed out far away from the wall..I'm happy with the rack for the price; it looks good and will probably last a long time, but I'd love to know what the heck kind of wood it's made out of. It's ridiculous how lightweight it is.

Easy to assemble, even without the instructions

Super happy with this coat rack, I thought it might be too bulky for the space but after installing it, it fits perfectly. Super easy to put together and very sturdy construction

The look/style of this rack is exactly what I wanted but it is so cheaply made the screw holes for the shelf aren't even so the shelf is slightly crooked and the material is probably the cheapest wood ever (if it's even wood) the screws provided for mounting are too skinny and do not fit the wall anchors provided. Not happy with it, especially for what I paid.

It looks so nice! And it was fairly easy to put together, just make sure you have a drill. Usually I have my husband put these types of things together, but I did it myself with no issue! You do have to go easy with the drill when screwing in the metal hooks or you could scratch the paint off the screws or possibly strip the screws.Before, the hats were all over the house, the jackets sat on the back of the couch, the lunchbox sat on the counter, and the kids kept getting into my purse!I put the heavier items on the big hooks at the ends so the metal hooks don’t break off. I wouldn’t recommend using the metal hooks for heavier items like purses, backpacks, or my husbands lunchbox, he carries all of his things in there so it can get pretty heavy. Overall, it works well, I personally think it was worth the prices and holds even the decor items on the top shelf well. 10/10 would buy again
